Richard Hatch won’t be back!

by

richard-hatch-released.jpg…of course, we didn’t even know that it was a possibility, until now…

The show is filming, or soon to wrap up Survivor: Samoa, the 19th season of the show, and thanks to Jeff Probst, we know that Season 20 will be filmed right afterward, and the casting director mentioned that the casting for 19/20 was being done simultaneously. They’re doing them both in a row to save on production costs. This means that Survivor 20 will be in Samoa as well… filming between August 1 and September 20.

The last time that happened? Allstars, baby, in the Pearl Islands.

So - is this going to be another allstars? All signs point to yes - and the “secret twist” has already been revealed. This time, it’s Heroes vs. Villians - confirmed by a cast member that wasn’t asked to return.

Someone else who won’t be returning? Richard Hatch, though he was invited. The email confirming the Heroes vs. Villians allstars was revealed as part of Hatche’s petition to be released from his halfway house stint early so that he could go on the show. His big argument was that going on the show would stand in for his needing a job now, and enable him to pay the 2000 and 2001 taxes he owes - for not paying taxes after winning the first season. *Snerk* Irony at it’s best.

Of course, that email was supposed to be kept quiet, in order to keep the twist a secret, but the request was denied, as everyone and their brother is talking about it.

Coby Archa, from Palau, is spoiling everything he can get his hands on at the Survivor Suck board, though he didn’t spoil the cast other than to say that “most of it irritates the shit out of me” but mostly just because he was jealous.

Coby suggested around 35 went to LA for interviews, and of that 10 hadn’t been on the show twice (Their season/Allstars.)

So what do you think? Ready for another Allstars season? Will it be better than the Fans vs. Faves that didn’t really get good until the second half? Who do YOU want to see return for a second (…or third…) stint on the show - hero or villain? My only request is - no Fairplay. He had his chance. No more Fairplay.

Sound off - and let me know what you think!

Survivor Millionaires - where are they now?

by

Where are they now?

The TV Guide channel si doing a special this Sunday on the TV Guide Network, focusing on the winners of Survivor, and catching up on what’s happening in their lives since they won the show. Jenna Morasca is on hand to host, and here’s a sneak preview and clip of what she’s been up to!

.

She mentions dating Survivor: Africa winner Ethan Zohn, but the interview was apparently before he was diagnosed with Stage 2 non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Ethan is currently undergoing chemotherapy, and is using his experience to teach his fans about it, and reach out to other cancer sufferers and survivors. “This is the ultimate game of Survivor,” he told People magazine, “and there’s really only one outcome, and that’s to win. There’s no other option.” He even shared the cutting of that curly mop of hair we’ve loved so much with People Magazine, as he got a fauxhawk - which Jenna reportedly loves. “I look like a bad-ass now, and not a preppy!” We wish Ethan the best as he continues to fight!

Another Millionaire recently in the news is of course the very first one - Richard Hatch. As we all know, he was in prison, serving out 4 years of his sentence for Tax Evasion, as he never paid taxes on his Survivor winnings - something he blamed CBS for. Umhm. He left prison early last month, being released early for good behavior - though he will have to lodge in a Pensylvania halfway house until October 7th before he’s free for good. He, of course,s till maintains he’s completely innocent - but was upbeat as he was released, even shaking hands with his lawyers. Awww.

I’m sure there will be loads more good things in the TV Guide special - so be sure to check it out!

Survivor Season Wrap-up

by

logoWow, what a great season, huh? With folks like Coach, and the Good Ole Boy triumphing in the end in a landslide, how can we not love Tocantins? I couldn’t have asked for a better finale - though I CAN and I will CONTINUE to ask CBS to spend just as much time on a Big Brother Finale for us this year as well! Show us some BB Love, CBS! Survivor gets 3 hours, would it kill you to give us two?!

Anyway.

So what were your thoughts? Are you happy JT won? Do you, like so many others, think Taj was robbed? Were you shocked at the questions? do you REALLY love coach? What about that lie detector test? And his “Lady friend” who said she slayed the dragon nightly? Is this some sort of kink we don’t really want to know about? Dish, my darlings!

While you get ready to - as Coach would say - pontificate on these things, take a look one more time at the preview for the nineteenth season of Survivor: Samoa!

At least this season is one I can spell - AND say!

If it holds true to form, they should start filming around July, for a September Premiere, after the end of Big Brother 11.

When the spoilers start trickling in, I’ll try to get them here to you asap! While we wait -check out the Survivor charity auction that Jeff mentioned last night. If you want a piece of Survivor: Tocantins, be sure to check it out - all proceeds go to the charity, and that’s just good Karma right there!

Also - it announced today that winner of Survivor: Africa (season 3), Ethan Zohn has cancer. He’ll be fighting for the biggest Survival of all - so spare him a good thought or 10, hm?

I can’t wait!

Survivor Reuinion

by

Awww, don’t they all clean up pretty?! :)

Welcome to the live Reunion show - JT are you crying? “YES!” JT says he’s happy and created the best friends he ever had, his parents are crying, it’s the happiest he’s ever been, and Jeff tells him he’s one of the most loved players they’ve ever had. Peoples ay hate coach, love JT. What’s the reaction been at home? JT says it’s hysterical, they LOOOOOOOOVE me, I love them too, they’ve been very supportive, and he says he didn’t even tell anyone, even his parents thought he was fourth at best. Ha!

Jeff asks if it was easy for him being outdoorsy? He says it was very hard, even day 12 he was questioning what the hell hew as doing, he was starving, and couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, hardest thing he’s ever done.

Why Stephen? He said that he was the only guy he doubted the most - day three of four hew as working harder than anyone and hs the best heart of anyone he knows. Stephen, what was the key to the alliance? He says they always clicked, it was always about bein there to win a game, work together constantly to make sure they were there at the end. He had an inside mole in the game - and Stephen says yeah,Coaches relationship with JT, he’d tell JT everything. Tyson would tell Coach, and Coach would tell JT, and coach laughs and says “I’m the gift that keeps on giving!” and Tyson jokes “He owes me a million dollars”

Survivor Finale!

by

I’m trying to get the stream to connect ya’ll - it’s not working yet. I am still trying!

:11 FOUND A WORKING LINK! WHOO! Alright, here we go. Just in time for the first Immunity challenge for today. Once again, Immunity is back up for grabs - today they’ll race through a tarantula shaped obstical course for puzzle pieces to solve web shaped puzzle. Nice!

Survivors ready - Go!

JT flys through and gets his first bag first, Erinn working on his first, stephen and Taj too, as they race back toward the puzzle - JT heads out for number two… the rope will tear you up, says Jeff, and says they’ll lose skin - JT has his second bag, and no one else has their first until now - Taj then Stephen, then Erinn… JT with his second. Go JT! He has one bag left! It’s going to be a showdown - JT and Taj ion the same leg - she lays down, he crawls over, and TAJ is out with her second bag, and here comes JT with number three and he’s starting to work on the puzzle - Stephen is on his way, he’s got his final bag too. The puzzle looks like hell! Erinn and Taj on the way back with their last bag - the puzzle is HARD, and will take a long time. Taj and Erinn make it to the puzzle table, and JT has a head start, Stephen is hot on his heels, and Erinn is the last to get there. 1 piece in the center, two in the second, three in the third… WIll Stephen prove himself a wiz with puzzles too - JT has 5 pieces left, but is he right? Erinn making up a LOT of ground… The last to start, and she’s catching up fast! It’s JT stephen and Erinn! JT has one piece, but can’t find a spot… one is in the wrong spot… ERinn has closed the gap, it’s all Erinn and JT! Who will get it! JT WINS IMMUNITY! WOW that was close! Awesome challenge!

They head back to camp - and Erinn says she had it, one piece to go, and JT won. It’s frustrating, and she’s sitting next to people who have been together since day one, she’s very aware they could take her out…

Survivor Recap at last: The Martyr Approach.

by

tocantinslogoWow - what an episode! There are a lot of choice moments in it… stay tuned and find out!

Forza, Night 33, we rejoin the final five as they return from Tribal Council and Debbie’s ouster, which had Coach shocked to the core. JT tells Coach that his number one ally was gunning for him, that Debbie wrote his name down. He looks shocked, says he’s the lamb lead to the slaughter, and they tell him if they told him ahead of time, they wouldn’t believe him. Coach tells us that he knows he’s dangerous, and is shocked that they protected him. He says the lesson is the game is still being played with truth and honesty and it’s the first time in the game he’s almost speechless - almost. Now he wants to talk to Stephen and JT and find out when he’s going because he knows that Coach Wade is no longer in control of the game.

Roll title sequence!

Day 34, and Coach thanks JT and Stephen for saving his ass, and knows he’s at their mercy. He asks them what they want to do about Exile, and JT says they should send the girls over and over, and Coach says that he feels like he scarred his lungs yesterday, and like for him, it’s whatever they want. Coach tells us taht he wants to go to Exile, and he hopes that his asthma doesn’t act up, he’s losing it, his asthma is kicking his ass, and his back hurts worse every day. Coach says that he wants to go, but the cold calculating part of him wants to send taj or erinn.

Stephen tells us that they are DYING to send Coach to exile because he’s so skittish about it, and think he’s scared. Stephen and JT shrug it off, decide they’re not going to tell him that he’s going - JT tells us that he’s ready to test him and send him to exile, it’d be nice for him to be weak in the next immunity challenge.

survivormaze

Reward challenge!
They must race through a maze that says “Survivor”, construct a pole, get the sandbag, and use it to knock down three poles and raise their flag. Oh yeah, they have to do the whole thing while their ankles are shackled. Yippy! They’re playing for an overnight stay at the governors retreat - including a shower, a bed, and a feast. Winner sends one to exile.

Survivpr’s ready? GO! JT is in the lead, and everyone follows him, except TAJ - she hits a dead end, and Coach just follows JT, who’s been right so far. It’s follow the leader. JT has no problem making his way through the maze - and coach has no trouble following him. It’s JT, than coach - followed by Taj, Erinn and Stephen.

JT and Coach are working the poles, Coach would love to win a reward “Damn right” he says. JT puts his pole together first, as everyone gets to work on it. JT has the lead and hasn’t looked back - and his pole is strong. He grabs his sandbag on the first try, coach is still trying as JT knocks down the first target, the second, and the third - JT WINS REWARD!

It’s Survivor Time!

by

Hi guys! It’s survivor time and I’m scooting in right under the wire! Ha! Even though my headphones aren’t working - we’ll power through!

:00 Forza, night 30. And everyone is happy and congratulating themselves on the final 6, but Coach is pissed that Taj wrote down Stephen’s name, Debbies name, and is talking to Debbie about it and Coach says he’s pissed off at people not even playing the game as he is. Debbie says to let it go, and Coach says that he’s upset playing with the coward alliance.

Debbie tells us that it gets old, he doesn’t let things go. and he’s off to the side saying “cowards cowards cowards” and says he doesn’t care about the money, he cares about changing the game start to finish and his honesty and integrity and he said that from day one.

:03 Commercial!

:05 Day 31, and Debbie is telling us that she’s been with coach from day one but it’s no longer working for her since he’s been a downer and not doing anything around camp, and it came to her last night that she needs to sep up. Debbie talks to Taj and JT and says that if Coach doesn’t want the money, why is he here? they have to do something. JT says that she’s playing a stragetical game, and is scared right now, and maybe she’s up to no good. JT goes to talk to Stephen and she joins and says they must be talking about her, and she doesn’t want Coach speaking for her. She says she gives a pinky swear word, god strike her down she’s in with them two. They shake on it, and hugs all around.

Stephen says she’s strategic and people doesn’t give her credit cuz she’s sweet, and that worries him.

:07 Reward challenge time! It’s time for the Survivor Auction - they each have 500, they cannot share money or food. The first item is french fries. Bidding goes up and Debbie gets them for $120.

Next up - Chicken parma, with red wine, and it’ goes nuts, the bidding. Coach gets it for $320.

NExt item is covered - and JT gets it for $160 - they crossing fingers, it’s NACHOS! JT says it’s no steak but it’ll work.

The next one is covered as well, and he lets stephen get it for $100 - It’s a brazil delicacy, chicken hearts - and he munches it down without a problem, even given thumbs up.

LAst item - it’s a CELL PHONE! It does a lot, and it can bring love from home - loaded are messages from loved ones, and Taj is crying. Only one can buy it, ad they can pool money if they want too. Taj is crying - JT, gives her the rest of her money, as does Debbie, everyone is giving their money t Taj. Jeff asks what it says, and Erinn says Taj has had it rough, she left her baby at home, and Taj doesn’t have to bid even - she has everyone’s money, she gives him all the money - Jeff says just takes 20, and lets her see her message. She’s in crying, and I’m a giant sap cuz I’m a lil sniffly too. They tell her to focus on he game, they’re holding it down at the George household.

There’s one line, Jeff says - maybe had been hard to hear - and she realized they said “See you back at camp” and she starts jumping and asks if they can go now. He says here’s how it works - he says it means what you think, and he gives her a choice. If she goes to exile, with Eddie, then everyone gets to see their loved ones - and she screams “I’LL DO IT!!!” and she heads off to Exile, and everyone else races back to camp.

Episode 11 Recap!

by

tocantinslogoAt LAST! Sorry ya’ll, my kid had her final swim meet, and there was all sorts of chaos leading up to that, and added carpools and… well. yah. I suck, I’m sorry, but we’re gonna get ourselves back on track! Ready? Let’s do it!

Previously, on Survivor… Tyson was sent packing and Sierra survived. Ha!

We rejoin Forza right after the Tribal council, and Sierra tells us that she couldn’t have asked for another tribal. Stephen says that they didn’t tell Sierra and Debbie because they knew how their vote was going, while Coach tells everyone he didn’t see it coming and JT tells him they hope that he didn’t blame them. Stephen tells us that everyone was trying to smile saccarine smiles at him as Coach tells them there’s no hard feelings at all.

Roll Title Sequence!

Day 28. Debbie asks what the next move is, and Stephen and JT tell her Errinn and Sierra. Debbie tells us she’s recoiling like a snake to see what her next move is… does she beleive them? She goes and talks to Coach and says that they blindsided them and she’s pissed, they’re sitting ducks. She tells us she’d have bet that Tyson would still be there, but if Errin and Sierra go like planned it takes Timbira down to two. She tells Coach that she won’t be happy with 5th, or with Coach as 4th. She tells us they need to pull Timbira tribe back together, and maybe gain control of the game again.

“It’s funny when they cry”

by

Hey guys! Sorry to be so late AGAIN, but alas, I had previous commitments and couldn’t rearrange my schedule, so we’re getting a day after recap in my fabulous snarky style. Ready? Let’s do it!

8 are left - who will be voted out tonight?
It’s night 24, and Forza is back at camp and they start right in on Sierra, tyson saying “You have to admit Sierra, that we’re bad ass.” She asks to talk to Coach, while telling us that she’s not a bad person for writing his name down. She tells him that she never meant to write down his name and he said that she could have done anything but put his name down, since he’s the only one that hasn’t lied. He tells her that in love and war it’s kill or be killed - Brenden put himself against him, as did she, so who deserves to go next?

(Wait - what? It’s kill or be killed in LOVE too? Oh Coach. Oh my, dear sweet Coach. You are an idiot.)

The next morning, day 24, and it’s another sweeping view of Coach doing his little celebration of his victory over Brenden. He tells us that there was a feeling of peace that just settled over him - to pit himself over someone younger, and maybe stronger - cept that Coach can bench 300lbs, and Brenden cant do that. He says the battle is won, victory is his. Ha.

Ep. 9 Recap at last!

by

tocantinslogoSorry for the delay, ya’ll! My EST hookup is on vacation and I’ve had a hella time getting my head above water today for some reason. I’m here though - and here’s the recap you’ve been waiting for…

We start out at Forza, on night 21. Everyone is up late, around the campfire, and Coach tells us that it sucks that Joe left and there was a funk, and he decided to lift their spirits, and share a piece of his life with them, show them that no matter how bad things get in your life, there’s something that will make it worse. Nice.

He tells them that only 3 people know the story, and goes into this tale of being in the rapids of the Amazon and being captured by indigenous people, tortured and beaten with a club, and they were going to kill him and he managed to escape, and how he can’t describe the feeling of being stalked..

Debbie tells us that no one said a word, no one offered a reality check, until Brendan asks the simple question “how do you get a military drop off for free?” to which Coach says he pulled strings, and he turned down National Geographic who wanted to go with him because the trip was about him.

Brendan doesn’t believe him anymore.
(Neither do I. But that’s some comedy gold RIGHT THERE people!)

Roll Title Sequence and Commercial!

Day 22 at Forza, and Coach is doing his little meditation Tai Boa thing in the water, and I gotta say these sequences make give me the LOLz big time. Those watching mock his warrior poses, and say don’t bother him, he won’t bother them. JT tells us that he’s in the power alliance, and brenden is going home, even though they’re targeting him.

Coach rejoins and says he’s doing “Chau Ram” and if you google it you won’t find it, because it’s only passed down verbally, at a monestary where he studied it. Seirra tells him he looked ridiculous. Coach then tells us once again that Brendan is the dragon, he is the dragonslayer, and that Sierra is next to go because she is - wait for it - the bowel movement that comes out of the dragon.

…oh my.

Coach is certain he’s in charge of the game, like hes been born to do. Oh Coach, how I will enjoy your downfall!

Episode 8: Probst Preview!

by

It’s Survivor Night, and what would a pre-recap post be without the latest in interviews and a preview by Mr. Dimples himself? Exactly! So first things first - here’s the preview:

.
vc_s18_ep8_4_12_0065Is it just me, or does Jeff seem a little anxious there? Is Coach close to getting the boot? We know Probst loves him some Coach - as he does all the wacky characters of Survivor - so maybe the DragonSlayer is about to get slayed! After all, other previews have the Exile Alliance finally deciding who they’re going to target and getting busy - and focusing on Coach. Will they succeed?! Seems that many of the castaways think they control the game - but as the previews keep asking - Which. One. Does?!

Here’s some interviews with Joe: Survivor Fans Podcast, Reality News Online and Buddy TV. And of course, the best of both words, Jeff Probst blogs Episode 7.

See you in a couple hours for the recap!

“The Dragon Slayer”

by

tocantinslogo-:20 Hey ya’ll! Just setting up the post for tonight’s recap! See ya in 20!

(My normal source is on vacation this week - so no screncaps, sorry!)

:00 Previously on Survivor…. 10 are left, who will be voted out tonight?

We rejoin Jalapao after tribal council and Taj says she felt bad that Sydney had to go, but someone had too and it wasn’t her, and that makes her glad.

:05 - We’re back, and Coach is doing some sort of Tai Bou, at Timbira, and everyone is watching him and laughing. He tells us that up till now it’s about the team, and he’s trying to get along, but he needed to get centered, praying and meditating and getting focused, it’s about him now.

He feels that they’re close to a merge, and he starts giving backrubs, and says he’s pacifying the tribe. Errinn says if that’s what he needs to do to be nice to everyone, she’ll hold his hand - she likes the new coach!

He and Branden chat, and Coach says life is good, and Branden says the relationship with coach is good, sometimes he’s annoying, he’s always messing with his hair, and he says he’s started a samari thing, and Brenden makes fun of hi for it since Japan has done it for thousands of years.

Back at Jalapao, they’re checking Joe’s leg, it’s all infected and red and hot. He says it’s a bacteria or parsite got in there. Taj is worried, and says he swears he’s getting better, but she doesn’t know. JT says that Joe is down and out, and if there is a merge, Jalapao is down to 4 members, and this is the biggest challenge yet.

“09 Tree Mail at Timbira. It says they could be winning a Feast, and Taj says that there’s a feast and she gets excited when she hears anything that starts with an F hahaha! They’re excited and want to win, JT says he’s a sore loser, doesn’t wanna lose and wants to redeem himself.

:10 It’s time! Both Tribes converge, and find a table with food - their Fiest! Everyone is excited, and they locate a note that says they need a name and flag and everyone gets green buffs - and everyone will live at the Timbira camp. Stephen says Jalapao is freakin HUNGRY, so they’re excited about the merge. Coach makes a toast to everyone, and there is much eating and drinking and being merry. Coach tells us it’s like getting a new girlfriend - there’s all sorts of new things to explore, and he’s sure they’re in control, and will be all the way. He’s confident.

Coach says he likes JT - he’s a warrior, and Stephen is intelligent, and figures the individual immunity will be with all the alpha males. Sierra brings up the last two votes, saying they were shocked by it, and asked what happened. And Stephen says you have to be discreet about giving info. Stephen only tells her that they’re way competitive, while JT tells us he’s worried, because going into a merge down in numbers, they can be sitting ducks, it’s not good odds. He’s hoping for a power struggle.

Probst Preview and more!

by

It’s Thursday! Again! YAY! I know ya’ll are dying to know what’s gonna happen tonight, so here’s Probst’s Preview for ya!

Looks like tonight we’ll have the merge, as well as the first individual immunity challenge! And looks like Joe’s injury might cause him to leave the game!

And for those who’ve missed it (since I didn’t post it - bad Lessa!) here are Sydney’s interviews: Reality News Online, Reality TV Watch, Survivor Fans Podcast and Buddy TV.

Tune in tonight for our As it happens Recap! See ya then!

“One of those Coach Moments”

by

tocantinslogo-:10 It’s Survivor Recapping time! Since my server seems to be down, I’ll post this asap. (Of course, if you’re seeing it, then it’s clear the issue has cleared up. Ha!) After two weeks off, it’s great to be back with a brand spankin new episode! Ready? let’s get our Recap on….

:00 Here we go kids - Previously on survivor… 11 are left, who will be voted out tonight?

:01 Jalapao, day 15, right after the Tribal Council, JT is talking about the merge, and they can’t lose again, as it’d be another tough loss for them. Sydney is nervous, but Joe tells her not to worry, she’ll make it to the merge. JT and Steve are protective, and JOe tells her se has a free pass.

:02 Roll Title Sequence!

:06 Timbira, Day 16, and beans are done, through they made it with river ater and there’s a bit of a fight over what to do about it, and Coach, of course gets his way, and then the beans burn to the bottom of the pot, and Sierra is upset about it. Coach complains and says that he doesn’t give a rip abot it, tells us that it was a ombination of wanting them to cook longer and it raining, and he tells them that he’ll take the blame. Coach says it’s meaningless, and stupid. Brenden says he does irritating things, but e accepts it because that makes him predictible, which is good in this game.

Back at Jalapao, they’re eating beans as well, and JT says it’s getting weird up in there. He’s been honest with everyone and hopes to stay that way, he hopes everyone is honest with him too. Taz wants to tell JT that she has the idol, and she and Steven chat about it a it. Steve is worried that it makes him wary, and Steve tells us he’s controlling the info between them, he doesn’t want to be out of the loop. Ta says that the 4 person alliance is still in play, but she wants JT to trust her so that they can get to the merge. Steve isn’t sure though.

:11 Reward Challenge! Hi Mr. Dimples!

Today, each tribe will have 5 minutes to build a barricade in the other tribe’s cage, then they’ll toss pigs through their own - most pigs at the end of 10 minutes wins a bbq at a waterfall, and someone will miss the reward and be on exile. Erinn sits out.

First stage - each tribe has 5 minutes to build the baracade - the idea is to make it impossible for the other tribe to get through. 4 minutes left - make them count! All done - now they have 10 minutes to toss the pigs through the baracade. One pig at a time - if it drops or breaks it doesn’t count. Lot of them are breaking - big learning curve here. Timbiri gets the first point - now two, then three - 5-2! Timbira is on a roll with a rythem but Jalapao is starting to catch up! 7-5… 8 for Timbira, Tyson starts breaking them and Timbira falls apart - now we’re tied nd Jalapao is back in it!

9-9 with three minutes left, then Jalapao takes the lead, 10-9 - Tyson is throwing them too hard, and Jalapao is staying in the lead, then Timbira ties with one minute left and Timbira in the lead 13-12, then tied 12-12 with 30 seconds, make it count! Time is running out, and they’re still tied, it’s down to the wire, 10 seconds… with seconds to go TIMBIRA WINS REWARD!

wk61

Timbira sends Joe which makes Taz happy because they have their alliance in place. Joe decides to bring Erinn, and tells us his charm game is part of his strategy, and he hopes he’ll get in good with her so she’ll flip at the merge. Timbira heads off to their reward, while Jalapao heads back to camp. JT says the Reward is just a reward, but they cant blow it when it comes to the Immunity Challenge.
