Watching Survivor

An Open Casting Call is an event your local station holds for SURVIVOR. When you attend an Open Call, you will fill out an application and be put on camera there. You do not need to bring your own tape, and you do not need a copy of your passport. Open Calls alleviate the headaches and expenses of making your own tape, transferring it to VHS format and mailing it.

These events are also lots of fun. Meet fellow SURVIVOR fans, make some new friends, enjoy. Your local station will send the tape directly to the casting department, where it will be watched by the casting team and the same as it would be if you sent in an individual tape yourself.

Survivor, Survivor 16, Casting Call

Borneo: Episode 02. Original Airdates: Summer, 2000.

We rejoin our Survivors in Borneo on day four where the Tagi tribe are complaining about the food situation. They’ve got rats, but want to use them as bait and not eat them instead. The fishing isn’t going so well.

Stacy and Rudy are still on the outs - Stacy says she catches him eating extra food and not working as hard. Rudy thinks she’s too prim and proper and in bout three weeks, she’ll learn better. It’s the Jungle!.

At Pagong, the generation gap is a problem too, as BB is working his butt off and berating all the kids into working too. He even uses one of my favorite quotes: “Cut it four times and it’s still too short, right?”

BB is all about the work, and the rest of the tribe is just not feeling it. Could this be a foreshadowing of the end? He even made everyone chopsticks - who could vote against a guy who makes everyone chopsticks? Just because he promised that he’d forget how to make them if anyone lost theirs.

The much talked about, eagerly awaited new show by Mark Burnett has arrived! Pirate Master’s premiered tonight to a rousing success within the demographic of… my family. We giggled, and cheered and booed and hissed laughed and concluded it had all the makings of a good family fun-fest. It’s no surprise, really, as we love Pirates, and our favorite Survivor of all time was Rupert. Clearly, this series was made just for us!

We start out on a dark night, with a longboat being rowed by the 16 costumed contestants, across black waters in the dark through the fog, with a single lantern lighting their way along with the full moon. (What, you expected this NOT to be campy? Please!)

They board the Picton Castle, where they are greeted by the host, Cameron Daddo, and told it is a working ship and they will be expected to pull their weight - else there be consequences!

They are told to grab a rope, and pull up (GASP!) a treasure chest! There are 14 compartments, and 14 treasures! Louie cackles with excitement, and we decide he’s our favorite because he reminds us of Rupert. (TOLD you we were Rupert fans!)

Told the legend of Captain Henry Steel and his treasure. If the legends are true, the treasure is worth $1 million, and whatever they find will be theirs to keep. They are given the evening to get to know one another.
