Audition and Previews…

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

So, I’ve opted not to do a recap of the recap, as there was very little there that we hadn’t seen at some point, and not much that would change opinions of those who have already picked favorite or hated castaways. Sugar was Sugar, Corinne was a bitch, Randy was arrogant, Bob was the survivalist, Kenny was sneaky, etc. But - there was a clip worth watching… the auditions clip! Check it out:

Looks like there’s yet ANOTHER fake immunity idol on the loose too, this upcoming episode!

The question is - will it fake someone out yet again? Remember the preview we saw before, of Bob telling Corinne that Marcus really hadn’t thrown the idol into the ocean, but instead hid it and gave him directions to it… is this where his second fake idol comes into play? Will Corinne buy into the tale? Will we point and snicker and fall off our logs - er, couch - watching it, ala Sugar? Time will tell! I gotta hand it to Bob though - at least his fake idols look like the real thing! Unlike Ozzy’s stick. (It’s an effin STICK!)

It also happens to be the family visit episode, which is always good for some drama… and a marriage proposal?

Now, somehow I seriously doubt that Kenny and Crystal are involved, it looks like a bit of Survivor Film Team misdirection, which we all know they excel at. If there’s a real marriage proposal, my bet is Matty asks his Girlfriend when she gets there for the family visit. That’s the most logical assumption, of course. Crystal and Kenny look to be celebrating another potential blindside - that’s what it looks like to me, anyway!

Happy Turkey Day!

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Tonight, as we’re all laying around in a fog of Tryptophan overdose, we’ll have a sorta semi not really brand new Survivor to watch. Yay! It will be a look back over the season, with never before seen moments - including some clips of audition videos. There will not be a tribal council, or any competitions, just the annual clip show where we hopefully see some things we haven’t been privy too yet.

So - set your DVRs, just in case you doze off after your pumpkin pudding (Is that only at our house? Yummmmmmmm.), and I’ll recap the recap show at some point tomorrow night.

In the meantime - it’s Survivor’s Weekly Roundup! Randy’s interviews - and they’re something else, really: Reality News Online, Survivor Fans Podcast, Buddy TV. Bitter, party of one?

Survivor Fever also has the insider transcripts, where Randy talks about how devastated he was when his dog died, and how he feels he’s decided to get another one.

On the blogging front - Jeff blogs about Randy’s departure and how he felt a little bit sorry for Randy, probably because of Sugar’s reaction. Aw, Mr. Dimples, really? I was laughing too. Just as hard. I guess this one, we’ll just have to disagree on. We do have to agree that it was a FANTASTIC episode! It’ll go down in history.

Jeff also has his preview this week - and says the recap show is one to watch for sure, especially if you’ve missed anything along the way. He also promises that the season ends in a “Really Big Way” and that this sets us up to be prepared for that. Yay! Check it out:

So, I’ll see ya back here sometime tomorrow night - if I’m not in a food coma myself! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Thursday Night Recappin!

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

-:07 - Seems that my East Coast stream is MIA today - if they pop up, I’ll get to recapping, otherwise the full recap will have to wait for my own time zone. Sorry ya’ll!

:00 AHA! Host is delayed and on his way home, however the show will begin as soon as he gets there! Stay tuned!

:17 Alrighty - here we go! Corinne is upset that her entire alliance is being voted out by Ken and Crystal, Randy is surprised he is still there, having thought he’d pissed enough people off to be going home.

Roll opening credits!

Day 28 and Sugar and Bob go off to talk, while Randy watches them go. They talk about Randy out - and Bob still thinks the idol is out there, and Sugar thinks it’s funny. Bob tells her how he waded around the pond twice and couldn’t find it - and that he made a fake one, that looks really good. He shows it to Sugar and she’s really impressed, and says it looks good - he wants to try and full someone. Sugar thinks it’s funny and maybe he’s an evil genius. Hee.

Corinne and Randy talk about how they think it’ll be Crystal, Susie, Kenny in final three, and Randy says that there’s still a whole lot of game left. Randy plans on being his same charming self. Corrinne says to keep away from the other side, Matty can be final three with them. Randy says they have to get someone, and it has to be Matty.

Tree Mail! Envelopes for everyone - Going going gone.. it’s Auction time! Corinne says nothing tastes better then 500k, except a million. She won’t throw it away.

Weekly Round-up!

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Alrighty, Survivor Fans! Time for the weekly round up, and no comments about “OMG WOMAN it’s THURSDAY ALREADY” because dude. I’ve had a WEEK. (Yes. Still laughing about it too. ANYWAY.)

So - here’s the roundup, AND Probst’s preview, AND some other good stuff! Check it out!

Charlie’s Interviews: Reality News Online, Survivor Fans Podcast, Reality TV Watch, the Deadbolt, People.

Here are the Insider Transcripts, too.

Charlie is awesome, and so very cute and answers some viewers questions here:

And here’s Probst’s Preview for this week - it has the promise of being a good one!

OMG. Do you think Randy will get Bob to give him that idol and play it? That would make me LOL for REAL. It’d become one of my FAVORITE Survivor moments if it’s explosive enough… I’m totally crossing my fingers here!

Panderosa life with Charlie and Marcus:

It was a week for cool Survivor happenings, like the Reality Dodgeball Charity Event in New York. Lynn, over at Reality Exploits was lucky to attend once again this year, and has a TON of pictures and stories from all the survivors she spent the weekend cavorting with. Reality Dodgeball is the baby of the infamous Billy Garcia from Cook Islands, who’s made the absolute most of his Survivor Fame AND he’s a sweetheart to boot! This years proceeds went to breast cancer research in honor of Jen Lyon from Survivor: Palau who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. Both Jen and her fellow tribemate, Katie Gallagher, who is battling Congestive Heart Failure were at the event to show their support and warmth. Be sure and check out all of the great pictures and articles Lynn has put up over at Reality Exploits! Sounds like a fabulous time, and once again I wish I lived closer to all these events!

It’s not ALL hearts and flowers for Survivors this week though - at least not for Ace Gordon. I thought I’d LIKE the guy at the beginning of the year. Alas, not so much. This doesn’t help, either. He was arrested earlier this week, facing misdemeanor charges after causing a disruption at an East Naples lounge on Sunday. He was charged with disorderly intoxication, obstruction of an officer and resisting arrest without violence. Apparently, he struck a woman in the bar and was asked to leave. He active aggressively toward a deputy and resisted arrest, forcing them to take him to the ground and handcuff him. Then he told them repeatedly he was famous.

I’m officially over my Ace Gorden Crush. Just sayin’.

So there ya go - the whole shebang! Catcha right here later for the as it happens recap of (she says hopefully..) Randy’s downfall!

Happy Survivor Day!

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

-:15 Episode 9 - can you believe it?! Things are just going too, too, too fast for me lately! But here we are and the merge is finally upon us - who do YOU think is going out tonight? Stick with me, and check back right here for the as it happens recap!

:00 Previously on Survivor… Here we go kids! After the recap, we rejoin Kota on night 24, as they return to camp. Crystal and Susie share a hug to ceebrate, and they applaud Kenny for speaking ou. He tells us the Crystal in him was coming out - he had to stand up for himself, and he’s orchastrated 2 blindsides in a row. He says the next to go is Bob, while Bob tells Susie he knows he’s toast, and he needs a merge - he tells us without a merge, he’s history, even though he teaches science. A little joke. Ha!

:03 Roll intro and commercial!

:06 We’re back, and it’s a brand new day. Fang, day 25, to be exact. They’re having problems getting fire, there’s nothing to eat, and they’re hoping for a Merge. They get treemail, and it’s tied on a golf flag. It’ll be fun, they say - and there’s a cultural trip, for those that perform better. Corinne wanted a merge, but they practice with their slingshot and golf balls. Corinne is fine as long as her team doesn’t go home, of course.

Reward challenge time! Everyone is shocked to see Marcus gone - Corrine looks miserable, and says straight up that she’s pissed, that he didn’t deserve to leave. Kota says that they all deserve it, it’s a game - and Kenny doesn’t understand why someone says he didn’t deserve it. Charlie is sad.

The challenge - golfing survivor style, with a large sling shot toward the hole. Tribe with losest shots wins the whole, best out of 3 wins reward. Meal, ceremony, and local dancers, etc - and losing tribe member goes to exile. Survivors ready? GO!

Kota has the first shot, 300 yards to the whole, and it’s just shy of 150 yards. Matty sends his way out there, another nice shot, and they go over to take shot 2. Kota shoots first - Bob rocks it, and gets it nice and close. Fang’s shot ends up only 20 yards from the whole. Fang takes shot trhee - Randy is way short. Kenny for Kota, wins the hole for Kota, and scores the first point!

Second hole 225 yards, uphill! Bob rocks it, just past the 125 marker. Matty for Fang, very close to Bobs. Fang takes second shot - High and is just 6 inches from the hole! Kota’s second shot is about 40 feet away. Kota takes shot three, and Kenny shoots long, and Fang ties the score 1-1!

Hole three - whoever takes it wins! 200 yards uphil! Matty launches it high and perfect. Kota and Bob has a HUGE drive! It’s gonna be a close one! Matty gets a nice one up hill, and it rolls back to right next to the hole, Kota ends up real close as well! Kenny takes the third shot…. JUST MISSES IT! 6 inches too far - Fang takes their shot and goes short, has it right on the edge. Big time pressure for Kota, Kenny takes it… just overshoots it, and it’s matty’s to lose - Randy gets all ordering, and they’re trying to discuss it, and Randy wants to do it, Matty says no Randy says just drop it - Matty won’t, Charlie says shhh, calm, happy, shhhh…. and it’s in, easily after all that - Fang with the win!

Randy’s still bitching, while the boys tell him to relax. Who goes to Exile? Bob - what a shock. Corinne thinks he can find the idol and wishes him luck in doing that. He’ll return for immunity. Sugar laughs with us, because he won’t find the idol. Fang heads out for their reward. Matty says he felt like he’d have 4 heart attacks. Randy says what he pulled was ugly, Matty wouldn’t listen.

:17 Commercial!

Happy Survivor Day!

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Have you gotten your picks in yet for the Watching Survivor Pool Party? If not, head over there now before showtime and do so! If you’re still wavering (as I am!), maybe the weekly Probst Preview will help!

I know I’m a couple days late getting together the weekly roundup - but you know how it goes! You get behind a little, and it grows, and I swear by the end of this week I WILL be caught up on EVERYTHING if it KEELS me! Yup. You read it here first. And second. And third.

ANYWAY! The Interview roundup for Marcus: Reality News Online, Survivor Fans Podcast, Reality TV Watch, and People Magazine Online. Then theres the Survivor Insider Transcripts for Episode 8, as well as Jeff’s blog on the episode, and Erik’s too.

So what did you think of the old “toss the idol to the sea” trick? I agree with Mr. Dimples (I know, you’re shocked, aren’t you…) that Marcus does deserve some sort of award for that stunt. Too bad he’ll enjoy it at Ponderosa on the Jury. What’s Ponderosa? It’s the camp where the castaways go after they’ve been voted off, to live in relative luxury while they go back and forth to watch Tribal Council’s, and eventually ask their questions then make their vote for the winner. CBS started airing these little segments last year and I love love love LOVE them!

Here’s Marcus’ segments (And thank you, CBS, for allowing embedding!):

There’s also an “You ask, they tell” segment, for all of those who simply can’t get enough of the oh so cute Dr. Marcus!

See ya later for the recap!

Ep. 8 Recappin!

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

-:20 Just setting up the post, so that it’s ready after I take the kid to work! Hope you got your weekly picks in! What do you think… merge? Fake merge? Yet another tribal switch up? Soon - we’ll know soon!

:00 Randy is cocky, and positive that the Kota six will completely wipe out the other four, while Corinne attacks Susie for voting for her. She says she isn’t sure she won’t vote her out at the next opportunity. And Susie says that she won’t sell them out, but she knows that she has the power.

:02 Roll Intro!

:06 Fang, Night 21, They’re back, and talking about their blindsiding Ace, while Sugar flexes. Matty says it’s a textbook blindside, and he’s glad he didn’t vote out Ace, he’s not gonna corner himself with any pacts on his girlfriend again. They talk about how he was playing all of them, and Sugar says she trusts Kenny more then Ace any day.

Matty is sure that Crystal is gonna gun for him now, but then Crystal and Matty talk about starting with a clean slate again. Se says don’t let anyone get into his head and Matty is worried that she’s mad at him. He’s praying for a merge, and everyone else is hoping for it, and wanting to eat. Kenny brings up final four - and they promise Sugar they won’t tell them she has the idol. Sugar says “Welcome to the game.”

Kota, day 22, and Corinne is talking about being how she was extra nice to Susie, to Marcus, but tells us she’s vindictive, and she will bury her. Alive. She’ll get her revenge!

Tree mail! Feast! And they are told to take their possessions, a brand new tribe, a brand new game, a brand new way of Survival. Randy says it has merge written all over it. Randy says Kota 6! Don’t be fooled! He feels they’ve got the advantage, and have it wrapped up. Kota 6 to the end, Fang 4, goodbye!

They arrive at the beach to great each other, hugs all around and they see an endless amount of food. And a box that says open when it’s over - the feast is over once the box is open. Time to get their feed on, and Randy is curious about the box, but he’s gonna prolong opening it as long as he can, since it will “end the fun.”

Kenny sees a clue under the basket, and he tries to read it himself, but everyone is trying to read it - it says share it or keep it to yourself, and his cover was blown. Charlie grabs it, says he read it, and he feels bad not letting anyone read it and tosses it to the otherside of the table. So they read it - and it’s a clue to another immunity idol. Nobody goes to grab it, Randy says he sees where it is, and they suggest leaving it right there. Everyone acts causally about it, and it occurs to Marcus that he should call their bluff - and get rid of it. Randy says they don’t need a stinking idol, and follows Marcus’ lead.

Randy starts digging, and comes up with the idol, and he found it in 20 seconds, he says he sounds arrogant, but it took him 7 seconds and he’s King of Gabon. He sets the idol in the middle of the table, for anyone to take. Kenny knows that he can’t grab it, doesn’t wan to look like a snake. Bob says it’s like the apple in Eden. Corinne says Matty wants it! Crystal says it’s the protection in the game. She wanted it, but she wouldn’t take it. No one wanted to be thrown out, no one touches it. They put it in/on a bottle, and toss it into the Ocean. Randy says once again, he’s king. All those Fang and Kota members work for him. Cheers.

Marcus says the people are so stupid - he got 10 people to throw an immunity idol into the ocean. There’s now no extra idol around, and it cant mess with the Kota 6.

So it’s time to open the box…

Note number one says to grab a numbered stone. Everyone grabs, and when their finished, read note number two. It says congrats on your new tribe! Odd, Fang, Even Kota. Charlie said he thought there would be 10 new buffs, but not. Sugar says damn. They’re instructed to get their new buffs, and return to the respected camps immediately, enjoy the adventure.

Randy says susie is crazy and stupid and it’s a horrible combination. Marcus says he feels lucky, he has great relationships in the game, and the Kota 6 are divided equally andhave the numbers over the Fang four. Susie feels she has more power now because she can swing if she wants to, to Kenny and Crystal. Crystal doesn’t feel hopeful at all.

New Kota: Kenny, Crystal, Susie, Marcus and Bob
New Fang: Sugar, Matty, Randy, Charlie, Corinne

:17 Commercial!

Probst Preview!

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Still a little over an hour to get your picks in! Maybe this will help…

Then again, maybe not! 1.5 hours to go and we’ll find out!

Weekly Roundup!

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Wow - I meant to do this earlier, but the day just got away from me! So here we go, the weekly roundup! First off, the Watching Survivor Pool Party - how are you doing there? Me, I REALLY did well last week…. NOT! I lost my bald-headed arrogant ass pick for a win - which really is ok, because he wasn’t living up to what I expected of him and his accent wasn’t nearly as lovely after several weeks of it. Then I only managed to eek out a couple of points for Dan’s ouster. Despite a 5th place finish for the week, Sugarbooger is still the one to beat, though a few of you are creeping up on her steady and sure. Be sure to get your picks in before the show tomorrow night, and see if you can continue to climb that leader board!

What did you think of losing Dan and Ace in the same episode? Were you surprised by Sugar’s betrayal? Impressed? And the previews for next week - everyone thinks it’s a merge, but what’s in the box?! Ideas? Hopes? I think it may be yet another tribal mixup… but I don’t know for sure. No one does. Spoilers are still tightly lidded.

So, in lue of spoilers, we’ll hit up the weekly interview circuit links, and see how Ace and Dan feel after their being voted off.

Ace: Reality News Online, Survivor Fan Podcast
Dan: Reality News Online
And both Ace and Dan at The Deadbolt and Buddy TV.

Also - Mr. Dimples himself gives us his take on Episode 7, while we wait for his preview of Episode 8. Eric Reichenbach blogs his thoughts as well over for Showbiz Monkeys.

Whew! As an added bit of reading - be sure to check out the Survivor Insider Transcripts for Episode 7, if you want the full interviews after Tribal Council, as well as the day after, AND a deleted scene or two.
