Happy Monday!
Happy Monday, Survivor Fans! Only two more days until we get to see the big twist that’s sure to shake up the game! Or so we all hope, hm? Remember this week’s Survivor: Fiji is on Wednesday!
To whet your appetites, here’s a little interview I found with Jeff Probst. Sure, being originally posted on that forum in February, it’s sort of old news, but it’s still a good interview, that contains gems like these:
“Survivor: Fiji” host Jeff Probst says he’s been amazed by the “sense of entitlement” exhibited by the “haves,” and how quickly they’ve turned their backs on the “have-nots” as this season’s newest division for the show’s 19 contestants plays out.
“There’s a clear sense of, ‘Because we live better, we are better, and we’re going to kick your butt,’” says Probst. “That really surprised me. They weren’t interested in even thinking about sharing.”
What may not be clear to viewers is that the “haves” are allowed to give the “have-nots” anything they want. The “haves” are thriving with plenty of food, water, shelter, even creature comforts such as pillows and hammocks. The other tribe? Reduced to licking palm fronds for droplets of water. But with a million dollars on the line, says Probst, it was all too easy for the well-fed team to put their humanity on hold.
“You don’t see the [Indianapolis] Colts giving the [Chicago] Bears the ball with three minutes left and saying, ‘Here, try again,’” says Probst. “It’s a game.”
You know, knowing that Lisi and Stacy could be sharing with the other tribe too, just does nothing to endear them in my eyes. I’m looking forward to Wednesday - here’s hoping Lisi gets the boot! (Though I’ll bet she only gets exhiled…)
