Not only is the preview for next Season’s survivor REALLY awesome:

But the Logo is WAY cool!

Survivor: China!

And someone took the time to put together the best of the Reunion into a 10-minute clip!

I’ll continue to post tidbits here and there throughout the rest of this week, and have no fear! Watching Survivor will NOT disappear over the hiatus! Keep checking back for news of the upcoming season as it comes out, and other cool things. I’ll be doing a Survivor: Rewind! where you can join me as I view the first season for the first time via DVD - and! I’ll also cover the new Burnett show, Pirate Master!

Fun things still to come! Stay Tuned!

Probst Preview!

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

Chaos is the name of the game in Tonight’s Survivor! Rumors abound, and some previews mention that they begin to turn on a fan favorite! Could this be the beginning of the end for my man Yau-Man? Or Heaven forbid, Earl? Oh man!

Other hints: Alex, who knows he’s next to be voted off, attempts to sway Stacy back to his side. Boo’s motor mouth is driving the tribe crazy. One castaway proposes a compelling argument at Tribal Council which causes others to rethink their strategy.

It promises to be good, no matter what! See ya’ll tomorrow for the full recap!

Jeff Probst in NYC!

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

Consumers will be able to practice their putting skills, enjoy barbecued favorites hot off the grill and learn how to keep their garden growing all season.

WHEN: Thursday, May 10, 2007 | 11:00AM – 2:00PM
WHERE: Herald Square - Between 34th Street and 35th Street on Broadway

Mark Burnett Weds his “Angel”!

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Burnett-DowneyCBS reported that Mark Burnett, the producer of our favorite television show, Survivor, tied the knot on Saturday, marrying Roma Downey in a private ceremony at their home. The ceremony was officiated by Della Reese, Downey’s Touched by an Angel co-star.

“It was wonderful to have shared our big day with our family, Roma, myself, our children and our parents,” Burnett, 46, told People magazine in an interview. “It was so meaningful and so intimate.”

A hired plane topped off the ceremony by flying a banner over head that read “…and they lived happily ever after.” Burnett’s two sons and Downey’s daughter from previous marriages were best man, ring-bearer, and bridesmaid.

We here at Watching Survivor offer our sincere congratulations to the newlyweds!

Survivor: China and Pirates Ahoy!

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

According to Yahoo News, what’s been speculated about on the Survivor Boards across the ‘net is come true! CBS will be filming the next Survivor in China! (Although, they say it’s the 14th cycle, and hello! 15th! Way to pay attention, guys! Ha!) There’s no confirmation of when it will begin filming, or where exactly in China it will be located. I suspect we’ll get actual confirmation on all of this during the finale on May 13th. (AKA Mother’s Day - so buy yer mom some flowers, huh? And maybe a Survivor Buff, too. And if she doesn’t want the buff, my address is… :) )

Survivor: China would be the first time the series is not on an island since 2003s Amazon Jungle. Other things filmed in China have said it’s very difficult to film because of logistical and government restrictions. Should this all be true (I’m naturally skeptical!) it will definitely be interesting to see it pan out.

In other news - CBS has announced Survivor Producer, Mark Burnett’s Pirate Master will hit CBS Thursdays on May 31st!

Pirate Master

16 modern day pirates will embark on a high seas adventure around Dominica in search of hidden treasure totaling $1,000,000! The grand prize is $500,000 for the last pirate standing (the Pirate Master) and the rest will be weekly booties to be divided up among those that find the treasure, used for barter and trade and buying loyalties. Cameron Daddo is the host, and though he doesn’t have Jeff’s Dimples, he’s certainly easy on the eyes!

(To the guy who announced Survivor was filming in Dominica a couple months ago - looks like you were sorta right, after all! There was filming, there was Mark Burnette - close enough!)

Sounds like Survivor: High Seas to me, and you can bet I’ll take the time to talk about it while Survivor is on hiatus! I will also be featuring a Survivor: Rewind throughout the summer, as I watch the first (and possibly second) season for the first time via recently purchased DVD. So have no fear - we’ll have plenty to talk about over the summer here at Watching Survivor!

Jeff Probst’s Episode Nine Preview!

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Jeff’s hints on the tonight’s episode!

Definitely a Merge, and it makes people MAD. Ha! I’ll bet when they go back to the beach (Moto?) It’s stripped down and poor Mookie never gets to experience Survivor: Light. And the spoiled McMotoMansion kids FINALLLY have to play the real game, if only for 15 days - or until they’re booted.

I do hope what I have sniffed out isn’t true… I hear one of my favorites may get booted tonight at Tribal Council. Tune in tomorrow for the Episode 9 recap!

Billy’s Insights on Episode 8!

Monday, April 9th, 2007

You know, I think I’m developing a little bit of a blog crush on Billy Garcia. It’s not love at first sight, Billy, but well, I’m a crushin’, just a little bit. Why? The boy tosses out the Snark with much flare, and you have to appreciate that in a guy. For example:

Holy Headbangers, we’ve lost our chubby rocker of the season. Oh No! No more Queen songs in my head. Ha ha ha. Well, it was an interesting episode and Lisi has to be the only person in Survivor history to flop multiple times in an episode and only be in one alliance.

For a very snarkalicious recap - check out the rest of his comments here!

Also! The Season Finale of Survivor: Fiji! is rapidly approaching! It’s again slated for Mother’s day, May 13th and will feature three hours of primetime Survivor fun. The two-hour final episode will begin with the Final Five players (Oh! Oh! Oh! Who do you think that’ll be? My picks are still Earl, Yau-man, Cassandra, Mookie and… Dreamz!) fighting till the last for the title of Sole Survivor. Afterwards, there will be the standard 1 hour reunion show, hosted by Jeff Probst.

If the building thrill of the past two episodes tells us anything, it’s bound to be an awesome ride!

Jeff Probst’s Preview for Tonight’s Survivor!

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

Can’t wait? Me either! Here’s what Jeff has to say about what’s going to happen tonight (Thanks IGN!):

Sounds like it’s another fun-filled Tribal council for Ravu! Will Dreamz be the next Jeff Probst? Tune in tonight to see, and tomorrow right here for the recap!

Is Jeff Probst Leaving Survivor?

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

Jeff’s answer is “I honestly don’t know.”

In a recent interview with Canada.com, Probst admitted that he has not decided if he’ll be back after Season 16, which is when his contract runs out.

Probst, 45, said he’s still very interested in Survivor, which airs Thursday nights on Global.

“I am most fascinated by people and why we do what we do. I am fascinated by watching how people justify their ethics and make the same mistakes we make because we are all human,” he said. “I have worked harder on myself and invested more time in myself trying to get to know who I am and what I want to be – and it’s a direct result of Survivor.”

He admits that it’d be asking a lot of us to embrace a new host after watching Jeff deftly lead all these years, but at the same time he is certain Survivor could, well, survive, without him.

In other news - check out the end of the same article! Seems they are considering taking Survivor into the cold! Survivors in Parkas in the wilds of Northern Canada; this Alaskan’s heart goes pitter-pat at the thought of it!

Dinner: Impossible!

Sunday, March 4th, 2007

Being up late at night pays off! While writing, I had Dinner: Impossible on the TV behind me, only to hear the challenge was that Chef Irvine was stranded on the beach and had to create a beach blanket bohemian feast. Why is this relevant? The surprise sous chef’s were past Survivor Winners, Ethan (Africa) and Jenna (Amazon)! They had to go out and get the fish for the feast, while Irvine, the chef, had to create a beach kitchen, and create dinner for twenty with two pots and a variety of wild and fresh island ingredients.

When Ethan couldn’t find/catch fish, Chef Irvine quipped “How did you Survive on an Island?” to which Jenna replied “He starved!”

Awesome. Seriously. If you get a chance to find a rerun, watch it!
