Survivor: Gabon

Aftermath!

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Wow. Just Wow. I truely blew it at the Watching Survivor pool Party again this year! Who could have foretold that the mild mannered Physics Teacher would school the rest of the castaways?! Apparently, not me - because I fell to a pitiful 8th place by the end of last night’s finale festivities. Sugarbooger - poised all season long to take the 1st place bragging rights this season, lost out AGAIN at the last moment to come in second place. NoelSarah came from no where, and since she DID pick Bob as her overall winner, scooted into third place. So who’s number one? SMCosper is! With a total of 177 points, SMCosper edged out Sugarbooger by a mere three points to take the WatchingSurvivor Pool Party Crown! Congrats!

I’ll be sure to let everyone know when the new season pool is open for joining before Survivor: Tocantins (HOW do we pronounce that again?!). It’s going to take me all season to figure out how to spell that one - let alone say it. Sometimes I’m glad that I work in type!

So! The interviews are starting to roll in - here’s a list of the one’s I haven’t posted about yet.

Corrinne: Reality News Online, Survivor Fans Podcast, Buddy TV, People Magazine.
Crystal: Reality TV Watch, TV Guide, Survivor Fans Podcast

Kenny and Sugar’s haven’t come through yet, but there’s one for Matty, Susie and Bob. And of course, here’s what Mr. Dimples himself thought of the Finale.

Susie’s interview mentions that she was surprised it was so close, and you know what? So am I. How on earth could they consider giving the million to her?! She did NOTHING - we barely saw her all season long, she even admitted to the jury that she deserved it because she TRIED. That’s all. She Tried. And so hand her the money. And they ALMOST DID.

I don’t get what some of them had against Bob - he played a very, very smart game. Likewise, it’s a bunch of bitter betty’s who couldn’t see that Sugar was clearly the mastermind of the game and deserved accolades instead of condemnation. Yeah, they got played - but the folks on the jury who are all pissed off about it are the same ones who were actively planning on playing everyone else! It’s more of that “What’s good for the goose is good for the gander” adage that people tend to forget about. Yeah, ya got played. Suck it up and give credit where credit is due! The fact that she didn’t get a single vote and Susie almost won is a Survivor Travesty.

And Corrinne.

Wow. Just Wow. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to jump through the screen and smack a bitch as much as I did with her comments to Sugar. Uncalled for, and classless. Bitch or not, no one deserved that.

I’ll keep grabbing the interviews as they show up. Thanks for spending the season with us here at WatchingSurvivor.com - and I look forward to discovering Brazil with you come February!

PS - I just discovered I’m LESS then 6 degrees of Separation from Bob! My daughter’s teacher’s sibling is Bob’s neighbor! Wonder if that’s enough to get me an interview… Stay tuned!

Survivor: Reunion Show!

Monday, December 15th, 2008

In case you missed it - the WINNER OF SURVIVOR: GABON IS….

BOB!

Bob celebrates - the oldest winner in Survivor history - and the rest of the Survivors join them on stage, as Jeff takes us to commercial, it’s the REUNION SHOW!

:10 Commercial!

:13 We’re back and it’s time to ask all the important questions. Bob, 57 years old, the oldest winner ever in the game. What was the key to doing so well? Bob says he tried to be necessary, and friendly and tried to play the game. He’s overwhelmed! Did he have a gameplan? He wanted to fly under the radar as long as he could and get people to like him.The fake idol? Saved his place in the game. Sorry Randy. Ha! How did he make it? Everyone was amazed as it looked real. Bob says he collected beads and stuff when they fell on the ground and when Corrinne said that they were sending him, there used to be beads and trinkets on the Kota flag - and he stretched and yawned and grabbed them on his way out. He just used some resin and his mom was good at art and he just put it together.

Jeff says that he took a lot of heat for throwing it in the fire - and he says that’s what they do, BUT, he did go in and pull out waht was left to give back to Bob, He pulls out the pieces - and asks where he got the rope, they don’t give them anything? He says he takes stuff. Everyone laughs - the instructions were tied with a string and that’s where they got it. Jeff gives him the reamins of the fake idol.

What have his students say? They’ve been supportive and enjoyed it. He’s tried to take some of the challenges and turn them into physics problems - the last question is to calculate if they throw a rock at 30 degrees, and this fast, how far will it go. He’s taking the show into the classroom. Jeff says Nice!

A question for the Jury - if Matty was in the final three instead of Bob, ho many would have voted for MAtty - 5. That’s a million dollar fire making challenge. Matty, bob practiced! Why didn’t you? Matty says he didn’t see it coming, he got confident and thought he had it in the bag. Jeff looks into the camera “IF you get on survivor, buy a flint and PRACTICE!” Mtty says he was never good at homework.

He has one questionf or Susie - how did she get so far, and get 3 votes and nearly win?! She says she’d like to say people liked her, she never wanted to make it nasty and was a hard worker, and was lucky with the two immunities. jeff says he was shocked at the votes - and she says she was too. Here’s what will blow the mind - Randy was the deciding vote (and no more mohawk!) Randy says that cookie was a million dollar cookie. Bob told him it was just a cookie, and Susie told was a little more upfront about it and Randy took her head off about it. A chocolate chip cookie cost her.

Sugar - Popular! What’s been the reaction on the street? She says people are thanking her about the randy cokie incident - and she laughs and says she has to leave the house with makeup on - everyone saw her license plate, and Jeff says she needs her own paparazzi guard as she points out people are blogging about seeing her drive her care. She says losing her dad was why she was so emotional all the time - and really she doesn’t cry all the time, she’s better now, she’s stronger. Jeff says she was popular with the viewers, but not those on the show - and this comment from Corrine is one of the nastiest he’s ever heard - and they replay her final jury comment. Undereducated, unemployed leech on society - everyone boos her.

Did Corrinne mean what she said? Does she regret it? Coming up next!

Survivor: Gabon - FINALE!

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

:00 Yes, I know, I’m doing this in my own time zone - my daughter had a concert, and some things are more important. (grin) So! We recap in my own time! Previously on Survivor - it’s time for a very long recap of the season, stick with us for more!

:10 And we’re back at camp with the final five, and Sugar is crowing a bit as she tells them that it was a perfectly executed use of the Hidden Immunity Idol - she’s never felt so powerful in her life. Kenny is not happy, and he calls out Bob about not giving him the idol. Bob tells him he didn’t need it, then tells him to get his own idol. nice! Ha! Bob says that he knows he was trying to embarass him, but all promises were off at that point, and Kenny says that he’s not a man of his word, while Matty tells him he’ll get a lot of respect.

Day 37 - Sugar tells Bob that Kenny thinks they’re in an alliance, and Matty with Susie, and says she’ll just keep playing along. She wants to be in final three with Bob and Matty. She knows Kenny doesn’t trust her after they voted off Crystal, so she’ll get to him first. She takes Kenny off, and they talk about Susie or Matty being the one gone now. They go to get their Tree Mail, where they have a lot of cloth or something. Kenny tells us he feels betrayed, but now feels better because he thinks Sugar is really with him.

Each of them have different colors to make themselves warrior outfits for the next challenge. Susie says that she feels great being in the final five. They have material, beads and face paint and she’s pumped about that. She’s porud to have made it this far.

:15 Challenge time! Jeff is impressed with how well they decorated themselves, and Matty says he worries his girl thinks he lost his mind, and Jeff says Bob is very villiage people. Hah! Once agian, Immunity is back up for grabs. They have to dig under a wall, go across plankes, into a maze filled with huts - find bags of puzzle pieces, run back with one at a time. Once all are collacted, build a replica hut. First one done wins Immunity!

:16 Survivors ready? GO! They’re off, digging like craze, to get a whole big enough to get them through. Bob is stuck halfway, but pulls himself through right after Susie gets herself through with kenny and Bob then Matty and Sugar “Squeezing that booty through!”. They’re on the elevated maze, heading to the maze of huts. MAtty falls off, as to g back to the start - Kenny barely saves himself the same fate. Susie has it first, sugar follows her, as does Kenny. They start untying the knots to get through the gate, Sugar is through first, then Susie.

Matty hits his knots as Bob is through his gate, with Kenny then matty right behind. Everyone is in theHut maze looking for pieces - there are 25 huts with only 3 holding puzzle pieces. Matty has his bag first and gets to the top with Kenny and Susie, then bob and sugar right behind. All back for another bag, searching, searching - Sugar finds them, as does Kenny, but Matty is first back on the course again. Bob is pulling himself up the steep ramp as Sugar heads back with her final bag of pieces, followed by Bob, then Matty… then Kenny, and Ssie.

Sugar starts her puzzle, followed in short order by Bob, and here comes Matty and Kenny, as Susie can’t find her final bag! Bob makes the puzzle look easy as he flys through, through everyone else is close as well. It’s sugar and Bub - BOB WINS IMMUNITY! Five straight challenges! (And susie JUST now finds her last bag. Heh.)

Susie mutters about not knowing how to beat Bob, and it’s

Happy Survivor WEEK!

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

-:15 Can you believe it? We’re down to the finale week already! After tonight’s episode there is only one more night of Survivor: Gabon! So who will be our final five going into Sunday’s finale? Only time - specifically 60 minutes of time - will tell!

:00 Previously on… Here we go, kids! Will Kenny’s latst move come back to bite him?! It’s night 33 at Nobag, and Matty does not look happy. Sugar pulls Matty off, as he tells us that he believes that he wanted Matty out. Kenny tells MAtty that he thought they had the real HII, and so he was trying to flush it out. Matty says that he’s lying, and Matty didn’t wanna hear it. Kenny’s playing the game, and he’s on to home. Sugar tells Crystal and Kenny not to worry, Matty is next, she’s with Crystal and Kenny, the best alliance she’s had, while Crystal hopes he doesn’t win immunity in the next challenge and they can get rid of him.

:03 Roll intro and commercial!

:05 Still night 33 at Nobag, as Kenny confronts Bob with why Corrine didn’t play the idol, and he lied to them. Bob says he knows he put Kenny in a bad position, and he feels it’s his fault.Bob says that if he wins the next Immunity - he’ll give it to Kenny. Kenny says he made Bob feel sorry for him, and Bob says that he’ll be a man of his word.

The next day, it’s challenge time! They will race into the swamp, through the obstacles, get a ball, race back and toss the ball into the net - first three with balls gets reward, to visit a Gorilla sanctuary! Cool! Food, sleep, shower, and return to camp in the morning. 1 person to exile. Survivors ready? GO!

Kenny takes the early lead, with Matty right behind, everyone catches up and is shooting, and Matty gets his first ball in, followed by Kenny as they take off and hit the course again… Crystal can’t get a ball in to save her life - bob is nice and methodical, as Matty gets number 2, and Bob is right behind, followed by Kenny - All the women are still trying for their first as the guys head out for number three… Matty is pretty far ahead, but keeps missing - first to get the ball in wins… Matty and kenny just miss - BOB WINS REWARD!

Bob gets to choose who goes with him - he picks Crystal, and then without hesitation, Kenny. obviously trying to make things right with them. He then sends Susie to exile, and Sugar and Matty head back to camp. Matty says his goal is to get SUgar to side with him while they’re alone at camp, and Bob, Crystal and Kenny head off for reward.

Survivor Recapping - ep. 12!

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

:02 - Ok, so I’m running a little late, and come int to Corinne yelling at sugar because she’s stuck in a tribe of people she hates, and doesn’t like Sugar talking behind her back. Just in time for a commercial!

:05, and we’re back. It’s day 31 at Nobag, and Kenny and Bob are fishing. Kenny says he would never had imagined himself being out there, and he loves that he’s his own man and is proud of himself. They caught some pretty big fish in the net, and everyone anticipates eating good tonight. hey all are amazed at how smart Bob is. Kenny says he’s just here to build things, and isn’t very good at the game. He feels he needs to take charge and pull the power into his own hands.

:07 Challenge time!

Today, they’ll divide into 2 teams of 3, race into the swamp to find 7 puzzle pieces, then put the sprockets to get them to work and raise the flag. Playing for… he wishes that he could say the loved ones are around the corner, but they’re not - but on his phone are messages from loved ones at home, and he’ll give them all a little taste right now. Crystal is already in tears, and everyone else follows. Crystal’s husband and daughter, Kenny’s sister, and everyone crowds around to see everyone elses. Susie’s hubby and she has a big smile, “That’s my man!” Corinne’s family brings her to tears again, and Bob’s wife is too cute and sweet. Jeff’s grin can’t be beat, for sure. Bob’s wife says she hopes that he’s having the adventure of a lifetime - and Jeff says that’s support right there. Matty’s girlfriend and dog make him smile, and everyone teases him about how pretty she is, and last but not least, Sugar’s sister reminds her they all love her.

Jeff thanks them for sharing the messages with him - he loves the loved one visit. The winner will enjoy the entire the whole message, with pizza, beer and brownies - fill up the belly, and the heart. No one goes to exile island - time to draw for teams.

:11 Yellow and red are captains - Crystal and Susie. RPS to see who goes first, Susie chooses first,

Matty, Susie, Kenny
Bob, Sugar, Crystal

Corinne sits out - and has no shot at winning the reward. Corinne says its sucks, she doesn’t know what to do to save themselves. Survivors ready - GO! They’re all tied together, and falling - sugar loses her top and crystal drags her along, she’s not slowing down for anyone. Jeff reminds them to work together - Crystal, Sugar Bob get thier first pieces with Matty, Susie and Kenny making up ground as Crystal and Sugar get stuck, then follow the other team - it’s back out into the swamp for both teams as they slog through. Kenny, Susie and Matty are working well together, and everyone is exhausted already - Matty Susie Kenny are heading back with their pieces - they ask MAtty for help but he’s carrying two pieces. Sugar, Crystal and Bob are playing it safe and are back quite a ways as Kenny, Matty and susie start working the puzzle…

…but here comes Bob, Sugar and Crystal - and Bob is excellent at puzzles, he takes the lead, as Kenny, the gamer, leads the other team and they race to finish and get it all working. Bob, Sugar and crystal make a lot of progress, and they thing they have it - and they DO! Bob, Sugar and Crystal move on to the final round - facing off with a slide puzzle.

First to solve the slide puzzle wins reward! Suvivors ready - go! There’s no chance for anyone else - Bob finishes it in SECONDS! BOB WINS REWARD!

He gets the phone and his meal as everyone else heads back to camp. Kenny says he wanted it - but Bob won, and he’s a threat and he’s next to go if he doesn’t win immunity.

Happy Survivor Day!

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

After last week’s recap show, it’s time for the best episode of the season - the Family Visit! It never fails to bring drama, and turn even Jeff Probst into a bit of a sap. Here’s his preview:

Don’t forget to get your Pool Party picks in on time and I’ll see you back here for the as it happens recap in a couple of hours!

Happy Turkey Day!

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Tonight, as we’re all laying around in a fog of Tryptophan overdose, we’ll have a sorta semi not really brand new Survivor to watch. Yay! It will be a look back over the season, with never before seen moments - including some clips of audition videos. There will not be a tribal council, or any competitions, just the annual clip show where we hopefully see some things we haven’t been privy too yet.

So - set your DVRs, just in case you doze off after your pumpkin pudding (Is that only at our house? Yummmmmmmm.), and I’ll recap the recap show at some point tomorrow night.

In the meantime - it’s Survivor’s Weekly Roundup! Randy’s interviews - and they’re something else, really: Reality News Online, Survivor Fans Podcast, Buddy TV. Bitter, party of one?

Survivor Fever also has the insider transcripts, where Randy talks about how devastated he was when his dog died, and how he feels he’s decided to get another one.

On the blogging front - Jeff blogs about Randy’s departure and how he felt a little bit sorry for Randy, probably because of Sugar’s reaction. Aw, Mr. Dimples, really? I was laughing too. Just as hard. I guess this one, we’ll just have to disagree on. We do have to agree that it was a FANTASTIC episode! It’ll go down in history.

Jeff also has his preview this week - and says the recap show is one to watch for sure, especially if you’ve missed anything along the way. He also promises that the season ends in a “Really Big Way” and that this sets us up to be prepared for that. Yay! Check it out:

So, I’ll see ya back here sometime tomorrow night - if I’m not in a food coma myself! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Thursday Night Recappin!

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

-:07 - Seems that my East Coast stream is MIA today - if they pop up, I’ll get to recapping, otherwise the full recap will have to wait for my own time zone. Sorry ya’ll!

:00 AHA! Host is delayed and on his way home, however the show will begin as soon as he gets there! Stay tuned!

:17 Alrighty - here we go! Corinne is upset that her entire alliance is being voted out by Ken and Crystal, Randy is surprised he is still there, having thought he’d pissed enough people off to be going home.

Roll opening credits!

Day 28 and Sugar and Bob go off to talk, while Randy watches them go. They talk about Randy out - and Bob still thinks the idol is out there, and Sugar thinks it’s funny. Bob tells her how he waded around the pond twice and couldn’t find it - and that he made a fake one, that looks really good. He shows it to Sugar and she’s really impressed, and says it looks good - he wants to try and full someone. Sugar thinks it’s funny and maybe he’s an evil genius. Hee.

Corinne and Randy talk about how they think it’ll be Crystal, Susie, Kenny in final three, and Randy says that there’s still a whole lot of game left. Randy plans on being his same charming self. Corrinne says to keep away from the other side, Matty can be final three with them. Randy says they have to get someone, and it has to be Matty.

Tree Mail! Envelopes for everyone - Going going gone.. it’s Auction time! Corinne says nothing tastes better then 500k, except a million. She won’t throw it away.

Weekly Round-up!

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Alrighty, Survivor Fans! Time for the weekly round up, and no comments about “OMG WOMAN it’s THURSDAY ALREADY” because dude. I’ve had a WEEK. (Yes. Still laughing about it too. ANYWAY.)

So - here’s the roundup, AND Probst’s preview, AND some other good stuff! Check it out!

Charlie’s Interviews: Reality News Online, Survivor Fans Podcast, Reality TV Watch, the Deadbolt, People.

Here are the Insider Transcripts, too.

Charlie is awesome, and so very cute and answers some viewers questions here:

And here’s Probst’s Preview for this week - it has the promise of being a good one!

OMG. Do you think Randy will get Bob to give him that idol and play it? That would make me LOL for REAL. It’d become one of my FAVORITE Survivor moments if it’s explosive enough… I’m totally crossing my fingers here!

Panderosa life with Charlie and Marcus:

It was a week for cool Survivor happenings, like the Reality Dodgeball Charity Event in New York. Lynn, over at Reality Exploits was lucky to attend once again this year, and has a TON of pictures and stories from all the survivors she spent the weekend cavorting with. Reality Dodgeball is the baby of the infamous Billy Garcia from Cook Islands, who’s made the absolute most of his Survivor Fame AND he’s a sweetheart to boot! This years proceeds went to breast cancer research in honor of Jen Lyon from Survivor: Palau who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. Both Jen and her fellow tribemate, Katie Gallagher, who is battling Congestive Heart Failure were at the event to show their support and warmth. Be sure and check out all of the great pictures and articles Lynn has put up over at Reality Exploits! Sounds like a fabulous time, and once again I wish I lived closer to all these events!

It’s not ALL hearts and flowers for Survivors this week though - at least not for Ace Gordon. I thought I’d LIKE the guy at the beginning of the year. Alas, not so much. This doesn’t help, either. He was arrested earlier this week, facing misdemeanor charges after causing a disruption at an East Naples lounge on Sunday. He was charged with disorderly intoxication, obstruction of an officer and resisting arrest without violence. Apparently, he struck a woman in the bar and was asked to leave. He active aggressively toward a deputy and resisted arrest, forcing them to take him to the ground and handcuff him. Then he told them repeatedly he was famous.

I’m officially over my Ace Gorden Crush. Just sayin’.

So there ya go - the whole shebang! Catcha right here later for the as it happens recap of (she says hopefully..) Randy’s downfall!

Happy Survivor Day!

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

-:15 Episode 9 - can you believe it?! Things are just going too, too, too fast for me lately! But here we are and the merge is finally upon us - who do YOU think is going out tonight? Stick with me, and check back right here for the as it happens recap!

:00 Previously on Survivor… Here we go kids! After the recap, we rejoin Kota on night 24, as they return to camp. Crystal and Susie share a hug to ceebrate, and they applaud Kenny for speaking ou. He tells us the Crystal in him was coming out - he had to stand up for himself, and he’s orchastrated 2 blindsides in a row. He says the next to go is Bob, while Bob tells Susie he knows he’s toast, and he needs a merge - he tells us without a merge, he’s history, even though he teaches science. A little joke. Ha!

:03 Roll intro and commercial!

:06 We’re back, and it’s a brand new day. Fang, day 25, to be exact. They’re having problems getting fire, there’s nothing to eat, and they’re hoping for a Merge. They get treemail, and it’s tied on a golf flag. It’ll be fun, they say - and there’s a cultural trip, for those that perform better. Corinne wanted a merge, but they practice with their slingshot and golf balls. Corinne is fine as long as her team doesn’t go home, of course.

Reward challenge time! Everyone is shocked to see Marcus gone - Corrine looks miserable, and says straight up that she’s pissed, that he didn’t deserve to leave. Kota says that they all deserve it, it’s a game - and Kenny doesn’t understand why someone says he didn’t deserve it. Charlie is sad.

The challenge - golfing survivor style, with a large sling shot toward the hole. Tribe with losest shots wins the whole, best out of 3 wins reward. Meal, ceremony, and local dancers, etc - and losing tribe member goes to exile. Survivors ready? GO!

Kota has the first shot, 300 yards to the whole, and it’s just shy of 150 yards. Matty sends his way out there, another nice shot, and they go over to take shot 2. Kota shoots first - Bob rocks it, and gets it nice and close. Fang’s shot ends up only 20 yards from the whole. Fang takes shot trhee - Randy is way short. Kenny for Kota, wins the hole for Kota, and scores the first point!

Second hole 225 yards, uphill! Bob rocks it, just past the 125 marker. Matty for Fang, very close to Bobs. Fang takes second shot - High and is just 6 inches from the hole! Kota’s second shot is about 40 feet away. Kota takes shot three, and Kenny shoots long, and Fang ties the score 1-1!

Hole three - whoever takes it wins! 200 yards uphil! Matty launches it high and perfect. Kota and Bob has a HUGE drive! It’s gonna be a close one! Matty gets a nice one up hill, and it rolls back to right next to the hole, Kota ends up real close as well! Kenny takes the third shot…. JUST MISSES IT! 6 inches too far - Fang takes their shot and goes short, has it right on the edge. Big time pressure for Kota, Kenny takes it… just overshoots it, and it’s matty’s to lose - Randy gets all ordering, and they’re trying to discuss it, and Randy wants to do it, Matty says no Randy says just drop it - Matty won’t, Charlie says shhh, calm, happy, shhhh…. and it’s in, easily after all that - Fang with the win!

Randy’s still bitching, while the boys tell him to relax. Who goes to Exile? Bob - what a shock. Corinne thinks he can find the idol and wishes him luck in doing that. He’ll return for immunity. Sugar laughs with us, because he won’t find the idol. Fang heads out for their reward. Matty says he felt like he’d have 4 heart attacks. Randy says what he pulled was ugly, Matty wouldn’t listen.

:17 Commercial!

Happy Survivor Day!

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Have you gotten your picks in yet for the Watching Survivor Pool Party? If not, head over there now before showtime and do so! If you’re still wavering (as I am!), maybe the weekly Probst Preview will help!

I know I’m a couple days late getting together the weekly roundup - but you know how it goes! You get behind a little, and it grows, and I swear by the end of this week I WILL be caught up on EVERYTHING if it KEELS me! Yup. You read it here first. And second. And third.

ANYWAY! The Interview roundup for Marcus: Reality News Online, Survivor Fans Podcast, Reality TV Watch, and People Magazine Online. Then theres the Survivor Insider Transcripts for Episode 8, as well as Jeff’s blog on the episode, and Erik’s too.

So what did you think of the old “toss the idol to the sea” trick? I agree with Mr. Dimples (I know, you’re shocked, aren’t you…) that Marcus does deserve some sort of award for that stunt. Too bad he’ll enjoy it at Ponderosa on the Jury. What’s Ponderosa? It’s the camp where the castaways go after they’ve been voted off, to live in relative luxury while they go back and forth to watch Tribal Council’s, and eventually ask their questions then make their vote for the winner. CBS started airing these little segments last year and I love love love LOVE them!

Here’s Marcus’ segments (And thank you, CBS, for allowing embedding!):

There’s also an “You ask, they tell” segment, for all of those who simply can’t get enough of the oh so cute Dr. Marcus!

See ya later for the recap!

Ep. 8 Recappin!

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

-:20 Just setting up the post, so that it’s ready after I take the kid to work! Hope you got your weekly picks in! What do you think… merge? Fake merge? Yet another tribal switch up? Soon - we’ll know soon!

:00 Randy is cocky, and positive that the Kota six will completely wipe out the other four, while Corinne attacks Susie for voting for her. She says she isn’t sure she won’t vote her out at the next opportunity. And Susie says that she won’t sell them out, but she knows that she has the power.

:02 Roll Intro!

:06 Fang, Night 21, They’re back, and talking about their blindsiding Ace, while Sugar flexes. Matty says it’s a textbook blindside, and he’s glad he didn’t vote out Ace, he’s not gonna corner himself with any pacts on his girlfriend again. They talk about how he was playing all of them, and Sugar says she trusts Kenny more then Ace any day.

Matty is sure that Crystal is gonna gun for him now, but then Crystal and Matty talk about starting with a clean slate again. Se says don’t let anyone get into his head and Matty is worried that she’s mad at him. He’s praying for a merge, and everyone else is hoping for it, and wanting to eat. Kenny brings up final four - and they promise Sugar they won’t tell them she has the idol. Sugar says “Welcome to the game.”

Kota, day 22, and Corinne is talking about being how she was extra nice to Susie, to Marcus, but tells us she’s vindictive, and she will bury her. Alive. She’ll get her revenge!

Tree mail! Feast! And they are told to take their possessions, a brand new tribe, a brand new game, a brand new way of Survival. Randy says it has merge written all over it. Randy says Kota 6! Don’t be fooled! He feels they’ve got the advantage, and have it wrapped up. Kota 6 to the end, Fang 4, goodbye!

They arrive at the beach to great each other, hugs all around and they see an endless amount of food. And a box that says open when it’s over - the feast is over once the box is open. Time to get their feed on, and Randy is curious about the box, but he’s gonna prolong opening it as long as he can, since it will “end the fun.”

Kenny sees a clue under the basket, and he tries to read it himself, but everyone is trying to read it - it says share it or keep it to yourself, and his cover was blown. Charlie grabs it, says he read it, and he feels bad not letting anyone read it and tosses it to the otherside of the table. So they read it - and it’s a clue to another immunity idol. Nobody goes to grab it, Randy says he sees where it is, and they suggest leaving it right there. Everyone acts causally about it, and it occurs to Marcus that he should call their bluff - and get rid of it. Randy says they don’t need a stinking idol, and follows Marcus’ lead.

Randy starts digging, and comes up with the idol, and he found it in 20 seconds, he says he sounds arrogant, but it took him 7 seconds and he’s King of Gabon. He sets the idol in the middle of the table, for anyone to take. Kenny knows that he can’t grab it, doesn’t wan to look like a snake. Bob says it’s like the apple in Eden. Corinne says Matty wants it! Crystal says it’s the protection in the game. She wanted it, but she wouldn’t take it. No one wanted to be thrown out, no one touches it. They put it in/on a bottle, and toss it into the Ocean. Randy says once again, he’s king. All those Fang and Kota members work for him. Cheers.

Marcus says the people are so stupid - he got 10 people to throw an immunity idol into the ocean. There’s now no extra idol around, and it cant mess with the Kota 6.

So it’s time to open the box…

Note number one says to grab a numbered stone. Everyone grabs, and when their finished, read note number two. It says congrats on your new tribe! Odd, Fang, Even Kota. Charlie said he thought there would be 10 new buffs, but not. Sugar says damn. They’re instructed to get their new buffs, and return to the respected camps immediately, enjoy the adventure.

Randy says susie is crazy and stupid and it’s a horrible combination. Marcus says he feels lucky, he has great relationships in the game, and the Kota 6 are divided equally andhave the numbers over the Fang four. Susie feels she has more power now because she can swing if she wants to, to Kenny and Crystal. Crystal doesn’t feel hopeful at all.

New Kota: Kenny, Crystal, Susie, Marcus and Bob
New Fang: Sugar, Matty, Randy, Charlie, Corinne

Probst Preview!

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Still a little over an hour to get your picks in! Maybe this will help…

Then again, maybe not! 1.5 hours to go and we’ll find out!

Weekly Roundup!

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Wow - I meant to do this earlier, but the day just got away from me! So here we go, the weekly roundup! First off, the Watching Survivor Pool Party - how are you doing there? Me, I REALLY did well last week…. NOT! I lost my bald-headed arrogant ass pick for a win - which really is ok, because he wasn’t living up to what I expected of him and his accent wasn’t nearly as lovely after several weeks of it. Then I only managed to eek out a couple of points for Dan’s ouster. Despite a 5th place finish for the week, Sugarbooger is still the one to beat, though a few of you are creeping up on her steady and sure. Be sure to get your picks in before the show tomorrow night, and see if you can continue to climb that leader board!

What did you think of losing Dan and Ace in the same episode? Were you surprised by Sugar’s betrayal? Impressed? And the previews for next week - everyone thinks it’s a merge, but what’s in the box?! Ideas? Hopes? I think it may be yet another tribal mixup… but I don’t know for sure. No one does. Spoilers are still tightly lidded.

So, in lue of spoilers, we’ll hit up the weekly interview circuit links, and see how Ace and Dan feel after their being voted off.

Ace: Reality News Online, Survivor Fan Podcast
Dan: Reality News Online
And both Ace and Dan at The Deadbolt and Buddy TV.

Also - Mr. Dimples himself gives us his take on Episode 7, while we wait for his preview of Episode 8. Eric Reichenbach blogs his thoughts as well over for Showbiz Monkeys.

Whew! As an added bit of reading - be sure to check out the Survivor Insider Transcripts for Episode 7, if you want the full interviews after Tribal Council, as well as the day after, AND a deleted scene or two.

Ready for Recappin?

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

-:15 Its almost time, and while we wait here’s Jeff Probst’s preview of the episode! Enjoy, and see ya back here in 15 for all the recappin glory!

:00 Previously on Survivor: Gabon! 12 are left, who will be voted out tonight?

:01, We’re at Fang, where Ace says it’s tough and they’re starving, and Matty says he’s hopeless about Fang, just as Crystal dumps the rice over, of which they only have 30 handfuls… and Mattie is upset about it, it’s more valuable then gold, and she just dumped it over. They make some up, and Crystal won’t eat, and tells them to eat, she doesn’t want to take it away from them, eat their food, she dosn’t want to feel bad. Kenny says everyone is working against each other, and he doesn’t like that Mattie and Ace are after Crystal, and he doesn’t like it. Ace says she did him a favor, she’ll be the next lamb to the slaughter.

:03 Roll intro! And Commercial

:06 Elephanants! Kota, day 20, and they’re sitting around the fire, talking about cussing and what parents have told them. Dan points out that Corinne, Marcus and Charlie are exclusive, and even goes to them and tells them he feels excluded a bit. Corinne calls him socially enept in a lot of ways, and she doesn’t know if he was a fattie, or what, but he’s clearly looking for approval. Marcus says he’s paranoid and he can’t save him from himself, he’ll become a liability.

:07 Challenge time already! It’s a game of keep away - two members throw a breakable ball, while an apponant tries to break it by shoving it to the game. Reward is a helecopter ride to a afternoon picnic, with drinks, breads cheeses, meets. And one person goes to exile. Corinne and Charlie are sitting out.

Randy attacking for Kota
Ace Attacking for Fang

Randy breaks the ball first Kota scores first!

Bob and Sugar are attacking, and Sugar calls Randy ugly and Jeff says “This should be fun!” Sugar is pretty agressive, Bob falls hard, and Fang neesxto score, but Sugar isn’t doing well. Bob has a big takedown but Ace keeps the ball alive… sugar doing nothing. Bob takes down Matty, and Ace tries to get it past Fang, Fang shuts them down - Kota scores again!

Dan attacking for Kota, Matty for Fang. GO! Matty comes out strong, chasing after the ball - SUGAR DROPS THE BALL and Kota Scores, Kota wins reward, and they send Sugar to exile for the fifth time in a row!

Matty calls her worthless when it comes to challenges and he wants her to go, as Kota celebrates their victory. Matty says it’s hard, they have everything, they have nothing. Its madness, MADNESS.
