Survivor: Rewind! Pulling Your Own Weight

Borneo: Episode 05. Original Airdate: Summer 2000.
12 people left - who will be voted off next?

(Sorry this one was a day late - had all that other news to get up, felt this could wait a day! Hope you don’t mind!)

We open the morning of day thirteen at the Pagong Tribe, where they slept late for the first time since they arrived. Everyone’s a little down, and Jenna gives her confessional laying sprawled on the beach. Greg has an ear infection, and Gretchen is still on the war path to clean up the site and get everyone to pitch in.

Back at Tagi, they’re using the parachute that was used to drop the last reward down to them as a big top parasol for extra shade. Kelly’s a little irritated, joining Sue in her observations that Sean and Dirk go fishing just to get out of work - they don’t catch anything, just float around. Kelly always has some little needlework in her hands, too.

Survivor: Rewind! Too Little, Too Late

Borneo: Episode 04. Original Airdates: Summer, 2000.

We open up this episode right after Tribal Council, where Stacy was voted off. At the Pagong Tribe in the middle of a tropical storm, it is completely miserable. Even the next morning, Colleen is “Not a happy camper!” Although she did say it with a smile. Ramona claims it is the worst night of her entire life. Sand Fleas are making it even more miserable, and Gretchen is bemoaning the placement of the shelter that she fought about from the beginning and tried to get them to tidy up camp. Joel wants to take over, but doesn’t know what Gretchen has learned in Air Force survival camp and such. Now that BB is gone, they can move their shelter without too much argument.

Survivor: Rewind! Quest for Food

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

wsbanner450rw.jpg

Borneo: Episode 03. Original Airdates: Summer, 2000.

We open this weeks Survivor: Borneo at Tagi on Day 7. Sean and Susan are complaining about the fishing situation, where they are pretty sure that “Plenty of fish in the sea” does not apply to Borneo at all. The traps are empty again, though the bait is missing again. The girls, Kelly Stacy and Susan, use the time however to voice their discontent about Rudy and how they feel he has to go and hasn’t contributed very much at all. They discuss voting strategies, and Sue’s already gunning for Stacy because she doesn’t feel like she’s contributing and Stacy.

At Pagong, Colleen says lack of food is contributing to their lack of oomph and the search for Tapioca root commences and they find the Mud Volcano and three of them decide to take a dip and wander around all Lord of the Flies like - and brought the whole group over to Tribe in the mud as well. Looked like fun!

Survivor: Rewind! The Generation Gap

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

wsbanner450rw.jpg

Borneo: Episode 02. Original Airdates: Summer, 2000.

We rejoin our Survivors in Borneo on day four where the Tagi tribe are complaining about the food situation. They’ve got rats, but want to use them as bait and not eat them instead. The fishing isn’t going so well.

Stacy and Rudy are still on the outs - Stacy says she catches him eating extra food and not working as hard. Rudy thinks she’s too prim and proper and in bout three weeks, she’ll learn better. It’s the Jungle!.

At Pagong, the generation gap is a problem too, as BB is working his butt off and berating all the kids into working too. He even uses one of my favorite quotes: “Cut it four times and it’s still too short, right?”

BB is all about the work, and the rest of the tribe is just not feeling it. Could this be a foreshadowing of the end? He even made everyone chopsticks - who could vote against a guy who makes everyone chopsticks? Just because he promised that he’d forget how to make them if anyone lost theirs.

Borneo: Episode 01. Original Airdates: Summer, 2000.

Hey, have you heard of this new Reality TV show called Survivor? Well, they took 16 Americans to a tiny village in Malaysia marooned them on Borneo for 39 days. They were given only 2 minutes to salvage whatever they could off the boat they rode to the island in the middle of the China Sea where they’ll be left to fend for themselves. They scrambled for supplies as Jeff Probst (How cute is HE? Look at those dimples!) gave an introduction to the game.

Survivor: China and Pirates Ahoy!

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

According to Yahoo News, what’s been speculated about on the Survivor Boards across the ‘net is come true! CBS will be filming the next Survivor in China! (Although, they say it’s the 14th cycle, and hello! 15th! Way to pay attention, guys! Ha!) There’s no confirmation of when it will begin filming, or where exactly in China it will be located. I suspect we’ll get actual confirmation on all of this during the finale on May 13th. (AKA Mother’s Day - so buy yer mom some flowers, huh? And maybe a Survivor Buff, too. And if she doesn’t want the buff, my address is… :) )

Survivor: China would be the first time the series is not on an island since 2003s Amazon Jungle. Other things filmed in China have said it’s very difficult to film because of logistical and government restrictions. Should this all be true (I’m naturally skeptical!) it will definitely be interesting to see it pan out.

In other news - CBS has announced Survivor Producer, Mark Burnett’s Pirate Master will hit CBS Thursdays on May 31st!

Pirate Master

16 modern day pirates will embark on a high seas adventure around Dominica in search of hidden treasure totaling $1,000,000! The grand prize is $500,000 for the last pirate standing (the Pirate Master) and the rest will be weekly booties to be divided up among those that find the treasure, used for barter and trade and buying loyalties. Cameron Daddo is the host, and though he doesn’t have Jeff’s Dimples, he’s certainly easy on the eyes!

(To the guy who announced Survivor was filming in Dominica a couple months ago - looks like you were sorta right, after all! There was filming, there was Mark Burnette - close enough!)

Sounds like Survivor: High Seas to me, and you can bet I’ll take the time to talk about it while Survivor is on hiatus! I will also be featuring a Survivor: Rewind throughout the summer, as I watch the first (and possibly second) season for the first time via recently purchased DVD. So have no fear - we’ll have plenty to talk about over the summer here at Watching Survivor!
