Ep. 8 Recappin!
-:20 Just setting up the post, so that it’s ready after I take the kid to work! Hope you got your weekly picks in! What do you think… merge? Fake merge? Yet another tribal switch up? Soon - we’ll know soon!
:00 Randy is cocky, and positive that the Kota six will completely wipe out the other four, while Corinne attacks Susie for voting for her. She says she isn’t sure she won’t vote her out at the next opportunity. And Susie says that she won’t sell them out, but she knows that she has the power.
:02 Roll Intro!
:06 Fang, Night 21, They’re back, and talking about their blindsiding Ace, while Sugar flexes. Matty says it’s a textbook blindside, and he’s glad he didn’t vote out Ace, he’s not gonna corner himself with any pacts on his girlfriend again. They talk about how he was playing all of them, and Sugar says she trusts Kenny more then Ace any day.
Matty is sure that Crystal is gonna gun for him now, but then Crystal and Matty talk about starting with a clean slate again. Se says don’t let anyone get into his head and Matty is worried that she’s mad at him. He’s praying for a merge, and everyone else is hoping for it, and wanting to eat. Kenny brings up final four - and they promise Sugar they won’t tell them she has the idol. Sugar says “Welcome to the game.”
Kota, day 22, and Corinne is talking about being how she was extra nice to Susie, to Marcus, but tells us she’s vindictive, and she will bury her. Alive. She’ll get her revenge!
Tree mail! Feast! And they are told to take their possessions, a brand new tribe, a brand new game, a brand new way of Survival. Randy says it has merge written all over it. Randy says Kota 6! Don’t be fooled! He feels they’ve got the advantage, and have it wrapped up. Kota 6 to the end, Fang 4, goodbye!
They arrive at the beach to great each other, hugs all around and they see an endless amount of food. And a box that says open when it’s over - the feast is over once the box is open. Time to get their feed on, and Randy is curious about the box, but he’s gonna prolong opening it as long as he can, since it will “end the fun.”
Kenny sees a clue under the basket, and he tries to read it himself, but everyone is trying to read it - it says share it or keep it to yourself, and his cover was blown. Charlie grabs it, says he read it, and he feels bad not letting anyone read it and tosses it to the otherside of the table. So they read it - and it’s a clue to another immunity idol. Nobody goes to grab it, Randy says he sees where it is, and they suggest leaving it right there. Everyone acts causally about it, and it occurs to Marcus that he should call their bluff - and get rid of it. Randy says they don’t need a stinking idol, and follows Marcus’ lead.
Randy starts digging, and comes up with the idol, and he found it in 20 seconds, he says he sounds arrogant, but it took him 7 seconds and he’s King of Gabon. He sets the idol in the middle of the table, for anyone to take. Kenny knows that he can’t grab it, doesn’t wan to look like a snake. Bob says it’s like the apple in Eden. Corinne says Matty wants it! Crystal says it’s the protection in the game. She wanted it, but she wouldn’t take it. No one wanted to be thrown out, no one touches it. They put it in/on a bottle, and toss it into the Ocean. Randy says once again, he’s king. All those Fang and Kota members work for him. Cheers.
Marcus says the people are so stupid - he got 10 people to throw an immunity idol into the ocean. There’s now no extra idol around, and it cant mess with the Kota 6.
So it’s time to open the box…
Note number one says to grab a numbered stone. Everyone grabs, and when their finished, read note number two. It says congrats on your new tribe! Odd, Fang, Even Kota. Charlie said he thought there would be 10 new buffs, but not. Sugar says damn. They’re instructed to get their new buffs, and return to the respected camps immediately, enjoy the adventure.
Randy says susie is crazy and stupid and it’s a horrible combination. Marcus says he feels lucky, he has great relationships in the game, and the Kota 6 are divided equally andhave the numbers over the Fang four. Susie feels she has more power now because she can swing if she wants to, to Kenny and Crystal. Crystal doesn’t feel hopeful at all.
New Kota: Kenny, Crystal, Susie, Marcus and Bob
New Fang: Sugar, Matty, Randy, Charlie, Corinne
:17 Commercial!
:21 Back at the new Kota, and Kenny says everyone thought it was a merge, and he only has Crystal, and he might be the next to go because of it, but he hopes it’s not the case. Crystal is the cousin of one of Marcus’ best friends, and now he feels a little torn, because he calculated voting her out but now that they’ve changed tribes… he pulls her aside and says that if she’s like her cousin, she’s cool good people and she wants to keep her around. This is him crumpling up his playbook and throwing it out. She tells him straight up she won’t write his name down, and tells us that now that they’ve discovered this connection, maybe she can use it to her advantage. of course, she promised Ace she wouldn’t write his name down too and he got blindsided.
:24 Fang arrives at came in their new - and Charlie says he thinks there’s a bright side, and the Kota six has the numbers, so he needs to make sure Corrine, Randy and he stick together as the previous members and remain strong.
Charlie tells Corrine that Sugar might have the idol, and they talk about how to get people out. Corrinne wants Matty out, because he’s a threat to Marcus. Randy says that Charlie is his first gay friend, and he likes Corrine. Matty tells us he likes randy, but doesn’t trust him.
Matty talks to Sugar, and tells her that Kenny didn’t trust Ace, that Ace was never gunning for her, not now, maybe later. She says she didn’t know. And she tells us that she was duped and feels awful, and she cries. it’s officially a Survivor 17 episode now. ha!
He tells her that they have to have each others back, and use the idol to keep them both in the game.
:26 Kota, day 23. Crystal and Susie are gathering wood, while Bob and Marcus talk. Marcus tells us he’s certain that Susie would sell him down the river. He says he’s very paranoid, Susie is in the middle spinning in circles playing dizzybat. She asks him where she’s going to be in the top 6 - she needs to be in top 3. She tells us that if she switches sides its his fault because he didn’t give her a clear statement.
:28 Commercial!
:30 Tree mail - day 24! They talk about taking out Matty if they have to go - and Sugar may be hiding the idol, but keeping Charlie and Corrine happy is more important. The mail says if you can’t keep it up, you might worry, let it fall you might be the first on the jury.
:34 Time for the Challenge!
Jeff asks if Marcus might be starting to think that he might not have the game ALL figured out? Corrine says they won’t call it Fang, because it’s tainted. And He says he’s trapped in the ghetto - whatever you want to call it he doesn’t care. Immunity is back up for grabs. Simple in concept, difficult to do.
Arms outstretched, hold two poles with the backs of your hands against the board up top - drop a pole, and your out. last one standing wins immunity for the whole tribe. The stations have been adjusted to match their height so it’s all fair. Lets get started.
Crystal is out after 1 second. OMG. Sugar is out after 10 seconds, not quite surprising. JHeff says it’s mind over matter. it’ll hurt, and quickly. Susie is out for Kota. Randy starts to shake, and he and Corinne are out at the same time. Fang has 2 people left, Kota has 2. Kenny drops the pole and is out for Kota. Bob and Macrus, vs. Carlie and Matty. Marcus is shaking - can’t hold it, and he’s out. Kota down to one membe,r the oldest person in the game, Bob, against Matty and Charlie.
Charlie is struggling, and loses it - he’s out. Bob vs. Matty. MAtty laughs and Jeff tells him not to get cocky, a moment’s lapse and your out, block it all out - Marcus says that Matty is shaking… and Jeff points out that his pole ison the edge, stop jabbering and concentrate. Marcus says you go this bob… Matty is right on the edge, Bob is shaking, but fighting… Bob hanging tough, slips but holds it, Bob drops his pole and Matty wins immunity for the Fang tribe! Corinne smirks “it’s Fang” (like bang)
Matty is happy with himself, and the curiosity is killing him what will happen at TC tonight.
:40 So, back with Kota, Marcus hopes that Kenny goes, because Crystal and he have a better relationship. He talks to Crystal and fronts getting Kenny out, then go back for Susie - and if they get Kenny out, she’ll be in the Kota six, and he tells her that her screwing up challenges, means she’s not indimidating. Crystal tells us that when you’re gonna knock off her ally in the game, hell naw. He’s a schemer, but you can’t outwit Crystal cox, baby.
Matty goes to talk to Susie and says it minimizes the risk to get out Kenny, and Susie points out Crystal instead, and they want Kenny, then Crystal. Susie says he has control, and she feels safer staying with marcus, and tells him she trusts him, she wants that final three. They say how they want it to go - and tonight it’s Ken. Susie says that she can use him to get there. Then Crystal goes to talk to Kenny.
Kenny really thinks the merge will go soon. Crystal tells him straight up they want him out, and she can’t let them do it. his safety is riding 100% on susie. Crystal takes her aside and says that they can help each other. Susie says Marcus wants her final three, Crystal says he’s lying - Randy doesn’t like her, Corrine doesn, he can’t promise final three. In the merge, they tke her out first. Susie now tells us she’s not comfortable voting out marcus, and doesn’t know if they can help her get that top three. She’s got a huge decision, she can go either way, she doesn’t know. Its scary, and that’s the truth.
:50 Tribal Council: Jeff talks to Crystal right away, and she says that Kota, she wears the suit, and it’s espionage. Bob says that the merge not being so close, makes him regret his choice the last tribal council. Is it important to have an alliance or be physical strong. Matty says that he wants to keep strength - Kenny says it’s straight up bullshit. They have the nubmers Marcus says that he’s a nice guy, and the frustration shouldn’t be taken out on him. Kenny calls him Kota, the leader, and Marcus says he’s oly one opinion. Jeff asks if th vote is clear cut, bob says yes. Susie says she’s made a decision, she’s ok with it, but doesn’t say it’s easy.
Time to vote! And the votes are: Marcus, Kenny, Kenny, Marcus, 9th person voted out and first member of the jury - Marcus. He leaves without a word.
Jeff says just when you think your in control of this game…. blindside. Goodnight!
Next time, on Survivor… Fang, same as the old one, and at Kota, Kenny is the man of the house. He feels he can win the game.
