FINALLY - The Recap of Episode 06

by Lessa

I know it’s a little late, but the California Sun was so…so… Sunny! But I’m home now, and things will resume their regular schedule around here, asa! So, with the proper suck-up-ing done… We rejoin Zhun Hu on day 16…

Peih-gee, Jaime and Erik are sleeping, while James is doing all the work – when are those girls gonna do something? Peih-Gee is still planning to throw the next challenge, to get rid of James. He, on the other hand, is still working hard and doing what he does, hoping to push them forward in the next challenges to save himself at the next council.

At Fei Long, John Robert is snoring up a storm, while Todd pulls Amanda aside and tells her that he has the clues for the Hidden Immunity Island, but since he can’t find it, he needs her help. Amanda is socked, of course, as she didn’t know one existed.

We jump right to the reward challenge, early this week! One by one will race through the abandoned Chinese village, find a plank, untie it, and bring it back, once they have it they’ll use the planks to solve the puzzle and spell “The journey of a thousand minds begins with a single step.” The reward is a trip to the tea house for bathing and food, plus they get to kidnap someone. For Fei Long, Denise, Amanda and Courtney sit out.

James and John-Robert start off, finding the planks easily, untying and running back. Fei long is in the lead, Sherea takes off, and so does Peih-Gee, who takes the chance to tell Sherea that they’re still with them as a tribe, and will work to get their fei long member out of there. Sherea says nothing. They’re working hard, and they are tied, 3-3, it’s close and remains so as they work the knots and Fei Long pulls ahead bit by bit. Tied 7-7, and Zhun Hu is trying to line planks up to get a head start, but there is none to be had. They’re slightly behind as Fei Long starts working on the puzzle. Frosti thinks he has it, and Zhun Hu has zero progress in figuring it out.

Fei Long wins Reward! Predictably, they kidnap their boy James back to enjoy the reward with them. Zhun Hu heads back to camp with nothing, and James is given the next clue to the immunity idol and told to open it in private even though he is friendly with the Fei Long guys.

At the Tea House, everyone is rewarded with snacks, tea, watermelon, bath’s and showers. Everyone is excited to see where the Tea House is, a little sweet spot in the middle of nowhere, where they are treated to tub baths, tooth brushes, and a shot of James’ ass while he showed up in the nude. Yuuuuuum! Amanda said what we were all thinking – though she had the advantage of not having the fuzzing we poor network viewers did. “None of us care, he has a nice butt. I mean, might as well show it off!” Amen, Amanda, amen!

While at the reward, Todd approached James and promises to save his life in the game if he’ll share the contents of the tube with him. James was unsure, but when he saw what was in the tube, decided to trust Todd, as he was clearly outnumbered on the Zhun Hu tribe. He had nothing to lose.

Meanwhile, at Zhun Hu, Peih-Gee, Jaime and Erik compare notes on the challenge, and discover they all felt they got a brush off there from their former tribemates. They threw the challenge to save them, but then Frosti wouldn’t even make eye contact, and Sherea refused to speak when Peih-Gee saught some reassurance. They aren’t sure where they stand now, and aren’t too sure what they’re going to do – except that they refuse to throw the next challenge. AT LAST! THEY HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT!

Back at Fei Long, James talks to Todd and they compare notes. Todd tells him he’s pretty sure he can find the idol now, and the plan is to give it to James, so that he can break up the Erik and Jaime alliance. One glitch in the plan though is that Frosti saw them find it, and Amanda and Todd were forced to trust him and tell him their plan. Frosti is excited and feels that it cements his place in he group, and Todd explains the plan to James, how to use it, and that it guarantees them the numbers come merge time. Todd pulls Courtney and Denise aside, and telling them the plan, and they decide the obvious – they have to win immunity, so that James can put their plan into motion.

Immunity Challenge!
It’s the good ole eat nasty foods challenge, though they are sure to present them in a semi-good light to appease the Chinese officials. It’s traditional Chinese cuisine, but most certainly won’t be pleasant. They will face off one by one, and the first team to four points wins immunity.

Peih-Gee and Frosti square off and mst eat ten chicken hearts each. Frosti makes quick work of it, and goes so far as to lick his plate clean for that extra little UGH! and gets the first point for Fei Long. Next up is Jaime vs. Courtney, where they have to eat three eels. Jamie gags, but still manages to tie up the score. Amanda and Erik have to eat three baby turtles, shells and all – it’s close, but Erik clears his mouth first, putting Zhan Hu in the lead! Next up – James vs. his buddy Denise, facing off over two balute each. Balute is partially formed Chicken Fetuses. James pretends to gag, and does his best to give Denise all the time in the world to get them down, but in the end she can’t pull it off, and James reluctantly finishes his plate to put Denise out of her misery and unwillingly scores a third point for Zhan Hu.

Erik steps up, immunity on the line, and downs the thousand year egg mere seconds before Frosti, and secures Immunity for Zhan Hu – destroying Todd and James’ plan. Denise is distraught, as is James, while you can almost hear the gears clicking as Todd starts to formulate a new plan. Todd, Amanda and Denise agree to vote for Sherea at Tribal Council, to keep the numbers in their favor, but Courtney hates Jean-Robert so much she wants to take him out now. She likes Sherea, and feels that could be a vote for her later on, where as Jean-Robert hates her as much as she does him, and she wants him gone before Jury. Courtney does her best to flip the vote in Sherea’s favor, while Jean Robert starts to feel uneasy as he watches everyone splinter off and conspire. Todd and Amanda begin to waffle a little bit, and when they all head to Tribal Council, no one is 100% certain who they’re going to vote for.

09.jpg

At Tribal Council, Sherea holds nothing back, and goes on the offensive, telling Jean-Robert point blank that his whole tribe hates him. He accepts that, and says he knows it, he’s the bad boy, after all. Courtney fires with both barrels, calling Jean-Robert a crappy person, and tells them all she feels like the outsider, much to Todd and Amanda’s dismay.

In the end, however, Sherea is the sixth person voted out of Survivor: China, 5-2.
