Watching Survivor

-:20 Hi there folks! Just setting up the post for our Survivor As It Happens Recap! Thanks to Bobby, of course, for streaming the show for me on East Coast time! If you haven’t got your Pool Party Picks in - you best hurry, they close for this week at show time!

:00 Previously, on Survivor! Recap time, folks!

:02 We start out as Airai - the Fans - get back to camp after kicking MikeyB off the Island. Jason says he was hoping the tribe would make the right decision to get rid of Chet, the weakest member, but it didn’t happen. He says he’s bummed, and feels they’re gonna just keep losing, and the Tribe he’s in is not where he wants to be.

Tracey and Chet are targeting Jason next. Says Chet “Sorry, dude.”

:06 Over at Malakal, they’re talking to the chickens, telling Charlie, that it’s time. They’re ready to eat Charlie the chicken. Ozzie is gonna kill the chicken, and Cirie is like EW - I don’t wanna see a dead flapping chicken bleeding everywhere! James holds him down, and awww, Charlie’s goose is cooked. Hha.

Ozzy reminds us that he’s got the Immunity Idol, and after Killing the chicken, he hid it so that no one will find it. He told James, because he can trust them. Then he told Parvati and Amanda too, but no one else. Amanda is proud of him, and they feel their the powerhouse right now.

:09 Come on in guys - fans get a look at the tribe minus Mikey B. Jeff tells them to drop the buffs - they’re switching tribes. 7 white stones, one purple and one orange stone. If you grab the colors, you’re the captian. Sounds like it’s gonna be schoolyard style.

Natalie and Ozzy are captains. Natalie picks for Airie, and Ozzy for Malakal. You pick from opposite tribe.

Natalie picks James. Then Alexis, Jonathan, Jason, Parvati (YAY! AWAY FROM JAMES!), Kathy B and Eliza make the new Airai. (guess I better learn to spell the names!)

Ozzy picks Joel - though he couldn’t remember his name. Hahah. Then Amanda, Erik, Ami, Tracey, Cirie, and Chet makes the new Malakal

For the challenge, divided into pairs and chained together. They’ll chase the other tribe, trying to grab the flag from their back. You have to score in 1 minute, or the other team gets the point. Playing for a get to know you BBQ - steaks, veges, wine - and no exile island today.

:14 Malakal is the first chasers - Erik and Ozzy chasing Kathy and Natalie. GO!

They take off, and Ozzy and Erik cut right through the middle, Natalie and Kathy too slow, and Ozzy makes the grab!

Airai -Parvati and Eliza chasing Chet and Joel. They get them corner, but Joel and Chet escape, Joel is DRAGGING chet aalong - Eliza is close, Dragging Parvati together - Eliza Grabs the flag from Chet - and Parvati gets a flat lip.

Tie Score - and Ami and Amanda chasing James and Jason - Ami JUST misses a shot and falls, she’s hurt but still hanging in there. Jason hits a tree, Ami has a shot AMI gets it, Malakal leads 2-1!

Penner and Alexi chasing Cirie and Tracey - if they avoid being caught, Malakal wins reward! They’re off - Penner is dragging Alexis on, Cirie and Tracy doing well staying away, Cirie dragging Tracy, Penner reaches - Misses, and Alexis makes the grab - tied 2-2! Penner has a busted Knee, Ami is hit and Parvati has a fat lip.

Chet and Joel chasing Parvati and Eliza - must catch, or lose reward! GO! Parvati and Eliza just have to avoid Joel and Chet, Joel is dragging him along - has them cornered, MISSES THE FLAT, the Girls are alive as Chet falls, and Joel is just Dragging him into beams, and getting frustrated, he grabs joel with a LETS GO! They can’t do it - Joel lunches and misses - Airai Wins Reward!

:22 We’re back, as we watch Malakal go back to camp, and Ozzy welcomes them to their new home (bet he’s glad that he got that beach. (grin)) Joel is decompressing and he feels it’s poetic justice and he ended up with Chet again, and he knows he’s the weakest of both tribes. Though it can be good to have expendable people. They’re excited about the Camp and how they have a place to stay dry.

Erik is thrilled to meet Ozzy, and will try not to let it clog his judgment. Joel says they’re living the high life, and Ozzy says it sucks they lost the challenge, but it’s only one meal, and they have the great beach and everything they need to be a strong tribe - but will they? Ozzy calls Chet a sack of potatoes, and he gave up and wouldn’t stand up. He doesn’t know whats going on, but he needs to go.

He loves chickens, of course, Chet does. Because they’re peaceful and have their own pecking order, that matches Survivor, where the weaker one is picked on until removed from the tribe.

:25 Back at Airai, they are looking around at the shelter, and the Faves are shocked at the state of it. Eliza says it’s a disaster, the beach isn’t as good, and even though they won the food reward, it was great, she misses Malakal where they had everything. This is a camp live downgrade. Alexis is glad for the shakeup.

The tide is coming in, and it looks like its gonna - YUP! It totally doused the fire, and even James tells us that the set up is terrible, and he’s amazes their alive, the poor things, they should be dead!

Jonathan tells us his knee is screwy, he punctured it. People got fat lips and bruises, he found a stick and shoved it into his leg. He is gimping, he tweaked it pretty bad. Enter the Medics to come take a look after nightfall. They’re gonna suture it. The medic has a LOVELY accent as she tells him it’ll be numb soon, to take deep breaths, and they clean it out and stitch it up. I’m cringing for him! OUCH!

He tells us that he has three stitches and a painful leg, but the doc was wonderful. There could be an infection that might work down to his knee, he hopes it doesn’t get worse.

:29 Malakal Beach has them doing some fishing for dinne. Ozzy is in the water, of course, doing what he does best - spear fishing and getting them dinner as Erik watches. Erik calls him amazing, he can swim like crazy, he’s a natural, he can’t compete with that.

Ozzy tells Erik and Joel that they have a strong tribe, aside from one. He’s thinking Chet, and then Cirie. Joel says if you want to get rid of Cirie first, he’d give up Chet. Erik calls it a meeting between super powers. Joel’s concern is having Fans vs. Favorites inside the tribe. Someone’s going to have to flip.

:37 Immunity Challenge!

Four members will alternate throwing rocks at tiles, when you hit it, it releases puzzle pieces, when you have them, three members will arrange the puzzle, with the help of a caller on a tower. Colors MUST match the tiles next to them. Time to get started. Survivors ready -GO!

James and Ozzy throw first, Ozzy connects and gets the first one broker, then Tracey as Jonathan gets the first for Airai. James smashes a tile but not enough to break it. Then he does it again!

Airai is on a roll, as Malakal Erik drops the last one - and they start working the Puzzle.

James misses again, and goes AW MAN and Jeff tells him “You need to stop bitching and start throwing!” Airai drops the last bundle and goes to start their puzzle. Chet is the caller for Malakal, and Eliza is calling for Airai.

Airai has made up a LOT of time, they’re busting it out like crazy, Joel is taking charge, and helping out. Chet tells them that it’s a zig zag, but AIRAI wins Immunity! NICE!

Malakal will be going to Tribal Council tonight. Someone’s going home. (CHET, people! Be SMART!)

:45 And we’re back, at Malakal on Day 14, right after the challenge. Joel says that for him its like 5 or 6 losses in a row, he’d stopped counting. He doesn’t think it can be Fvs F anymore unless they want to keep losing. Joel and Erik talk, and Erik says that Chet is the priority and Joel agrees. He doesn’t think he’s ever interacted with someone so spineless. It’s like he’s a wet rag or ball of goo. Zero honor in keeping someone like that on his team. (…where was this thought LAST week?)

:46 He talks to Ozzy, and says it’s time to get rid of Chet, then Cirie, then Tracey. ozzy agrees 100%. Amanda and Erik and Cirie agree as well. Cirie tells us that’s fine with her to get rid of weaker tribe members, except that it includes her. She goes and chats with Chet and Tracy, and they want to kick Joel out. Cirie points out he didn’t help his own team win, and didn’t help them win today. Cirie knows she’ll have to convince Ozzy and Amanda. It’s not working really that well. Cirie points out that he didn’t break any tiles, and only screwed them up in the tiles. She’s pushing hard for it. Joel’s into playing the game, Chet’s just a pawn and can be used, but Joel can’t be.

Ozzy tells us it’s an incredibly important vote, they’ll have to decide how they’ll move forward. Joel wants to win very bad, and Chet is worthless - it’s a hard decision.

:49 Tribal Council.

Jeff asks Ozzy about the switch, and he asks why he pulled Joel after losing James, and he says it was to try and match the strength for strength. Chet, you weren’t even picked, you were the last man standing, how do you feel? Chet says it wasn’t the greatest, but he wanted to go to this side no matter what. He knows he’s a weak link, but stills there.

Tracey says that if Joel and Chet had had even a little bit of communication, they could have done it, pulling someone who can’t see and dragging him around like a Clydesdale isn’t right. Joel says I told him I was going over when I went over, under when I went under.. if he couldn’t hear me through the mud in his ears, whatever.

Chet says he felt like he was being dragged by a mac truck. Erik says most of them are trying to keep the tribe strong as a tribe, no more Fans vs. Faves.

Time to vote!
Jeff asks for the HII, no one plays it, of course, or cops to having it. The votes:

:47 Next time, on Survivor - Ami questions her loyalty to the favorites. on exile island, Jason makes a puzzling discovery, and Jonathan fights an infection.

Joel says that it’s insulting that the tribe picked Chet over him, he’s angry and it’s confusing, and he’s stunned.
