“I promise…” Recap! (complete!)

by

-:15 Setting up the post for this week’s as it happens recap! Who makes the biggest blunder of Survivor History - removing that title from my boy James? Who gets ousted? Who does Parvati betray? So many questions - and answers coming soon!

:01 Previously on Survivor - it’s recap time!

:02 Dabu - right after the Tribal Council, as everyone asks Jason if he gave Eliza an idol. Jason tells us he’s glad that she played it instead of him - he wouldn’t have wanted to go home more of a full. Cirie says for a minute she was nervous, because she thought Ozzy had it, and it might not have been such a bad thing if it had worked out that way… because then Ozzy would have been gone.

:03 Roll credits and Commercial.

:06 Day 25 dawns at the Dabu beach. Jason says that Ozzy fooled him, and that he feels pretty silly, but to go against him against the first immunity challenge and win let him know Ozzy isn’t the only godlike competitor. If he continues to beat him, he’s doing pretty well.

Reward challenge time! they will divide into 2 teams of four - one will crawl through a multilevel wet tunnel, study symbols, race back and put them on the puzzle board. There are extra pieces that won’t match anything. First team to place them all correctly wins reward. Reward winner will fly to the most cultural places - feast, dance, and stay the night in a place reserved for visiting Chiefs. The one person not chosen will go to exile and sit out the challenge - choosing schoolyard style.

Jason, Ozzy, Erik, Amanda
Natalie, James, Parvati, Alexis

Cirie sits out, and goes to Exile immediately. She’ll return at Immunity challenge.

:10 Survivor’s ready? GO! Jason and Parvati out first, into the water and through the net, Jason is flying over, Parvati going slower, Jason is first to the platform. He studies the symbols, Parvati joins him then starts back, screaming through the tunnel with Parvati right on his tail.

They start working the pieces, Parvati is done and Alexis starts out - Jason tags Ozzy and he heads out and flys through the tunnel as well, overtaking Alexis. They both study, and ozzy heads back first and gets to the Answer board first, then starts putting up pieces, putting up a lot of pieces and sends out Erik. Alexis takes her time, trying to be right, then sends James out on the course. James gets to the platform fast (especially as we fans know he can’t swim well!) Erik and James come back at the same time and work their pieces. James puts one piece on and sends Natalie out. Erik sends out Amanda.

They study and Natalie heads back first, as Amanda studies longer, Jeff points out it’s better to be right then fast - they have to match, and if they call it and it’s wrong, someone has to go back out before any changes can be made.

Both teams are close - Natalie is wrong, and they have to send someone back out - meanwhile Amanda switches something and then calls it and ORANGE WINS REWARD! Amanda, Ozzy, Erik and Jason going on reward!

:14 The other team leaves, as the winner heads off to the plane and Yap, where they’ll enjoy some culture.

:14 Commercial.

:17 Jason says it was great to get the reward and rides in the copilots seat. Yap is a little island nation, and Erik says he hadn’t even heard of it, but people hadn’t heard of his little town early, so he can relate. They’re welcomed by Francis who leads them to the tribe where they will feast. Erik says the walkway was stone and worn away, and everyone is blown away by the village. Erik says it was like it had been there for thousands of years, he expected a dinosaur to come out and join them. Everyone agrees that it’s amazing, as they eat and drink, and they watch them climb to find some nuts. Amanda has never seen anything like it, and they cheer their good fortune.

All the women are topless, which Erik comments on, says that it’s the most boobs he’s seen in his whole life. They get to see a dancing - a tribal dance about the culture. All the kids came and Erik says it was beautiful, and all the parents were proud and it was a powerful experience.

Ozzy says that Erik has a naïve wide-eyed innocence and takes things in whole heartedly, and it’s wonderful. He tries everything, and he even chews the nut that’s like tobacco, and they laughed at him when he did stupid stuff, but it relaxed him, maybe too much.

:22 That night, after much nut, and beer, he figured it was time to call it a night, then he rushed off and got sick at the edge of camp, damnng the nut. says he partied too hard Micronesia style, and he tells us it was all worth it though.

:23 A storm rolls in, and we see Cirie on Exile Island, huddled to stay out of the rain. It rained all night, her fire went out, she’s cold, and says it’s not a good night at all. The next morning, She says there was nothing to gain by being there, no idol to be found because Ozzy has it. He’s a huge competitor then to have the idol on top of it? Increases that 10-fold. She figures she might have to work on getting rid of him and his idol.

:24 Commercial.

:27 Welre back, and it’s still raining on day 27. Those still on Dabu are huddled up out of the rain, while James is up and working on something, making noise, splitting wood for a fire. He’s annoyed because someone complained about his ruining his sleep, he says he isn’t sure how long he can take it without cussing someone out.

:29 The reward winners return from their reward and James says they look hung over. They talk about the food, and everyone is just staring at Ozzy as he tells them about it - James “Damn, that’s good, at least you had a good time.”

:30 Ozzy is in the water and Parvati is calling him a little brat to Alexis since he kept saying the food was good. James and Amanda talk, and he says Parvati is tripping and James is worried about girl power. Amanda says that Ozzy has to be careful, and Parvati put her in an alliance with people she doesn’t know or trust.

Jason tells Erik says he won’t be there here much longer if he doesn’t continue to win, says it’s life or death. Ozzy is getting ready, he’s gonna be ready too.

:31 Immunity Challenge time! Cirie rejoins the tribe, and Jason gives up his necklace. It’s back up for grabs. Today’s challenge, step on a log, hand tethered to a bucket of water, tip the bucket, get wet, out of the challenge. Last man standing wins.

:32 Challenge is officially on. Everyone works for a comfortable position. And Jeff brings out a big bowl of candy to tempt them with at the 20 minute mark. Cirie, Erik step down together to get a bowl of Candy, splashed with colored goo - James says what the nicklelodian is going on here! and everyone is laughing.

At 45 minutes, Jeff brings something else out - James says if it’s a steak he quits, but Jeff says no chance - and my feeds are freezing. Alexis is so excited before finding out what it is, she loses concentration and is out of the challenge. Jeff tells her to mope and be mad. Jeff says if she wanted the Cookie and Milk they have to let him know - Natalie doesn’t, and loses concentration. Then James does the same thing. No one takes chocolate cookie or milk. Ozzy Jason, Amanda and Parvati are left.

At one hour: Next item is chocolate glazed donuts and Ozzy takes it without hesitation. Down to three.

At three hours it rains for a while, then five hours, and they’re still standing. Jeff looks bored. Amanda says she has to pee and is done. That leaves Parvati and Jason as Amanda runs off to pee in the Jungle.

6 hours in, and Parvati is still smiling as Cirie encourages her from the sideline. Jeff offers a full plate - cookies, doughnuts, chocolate, two beers and a pizza. Whoever steps down gets to share it with the ones already out. The group says they’re prepared they won’t vote him out if he takes one from the team. He demands a guarentee. Natalie says she won’t. That’s one - Erik says he won’t, that’s two. Parvati is 3, Cirie crosses her fingers behind her back, and guarantees. Alexis, then James - that’s everyone. Question is, as Jeff says, does he trust them? There are a whole bunch of crossed fingers behind backs there - Jason says he’s either making the biggest mistake, or… and he crosses his fingers hopefully and steps down.

Parvati wins immunity!

She and Jason are HURTING, big time, both holding their shoulders. They get to eat, and we go to commercial.

:40 commercial.

:45 We’re back, and Jason is told that was a battle, and she felt like her arm was gonna pop out of her socket. Jason tells us he spent 6.5 hours standing there busting his butt only to step down for food for his tribe. It could be his biggest mistake, or a saving grace. Ozzy says he should have known better. He tells us it was the dumbest move in Survivor History, and he fell for the oldest trick in the book and will go home. James says he just wanted a friend, damn fool. Ozzy says he got outwitted. Amanda says we are going for Jason, and ozzy says he might go on an immunity rampage.

Cirie says they all guaranteed Jason they won’t vote him out, which means that it’s the perfect time to get rid of Ozzy and his idol. She talkes to Natalie, says they can’t tell Amanda, James or Erik. Parvati thinks that if she doesn’t get rid of Ozzy he could win the game, and she can’t have that. But she is in an alliance with Ozzy, and Amanda has been her best friend, and James has been her guy from day one - what does she do?

The girls pull Jason into the fold, and tell him what’s going on, and that Alexis says it has to be kept totally on the downlow, because if he gets a wiff of it, he’ll play the idol. James and Ozzy talk, James says he’s getting a bad feeling and is worried about Parvati. Ozzy says it’s a good time to try and flush the idol out - but he trusts his alliance. In the last moment he might stuff the idol in his bag and play it just to be safe.

:49 Tribal Council.

Eliza joins as part of the jury, and Jeff asks Cirie if she looked for the immunity idol. She says there was only 3 hours of no rain, and Ozzy has the idol, so why bother? Ozzy says it puts a target on his back for sure.

Jeff calls today’s challenge one of the craziest thing. Jason says the chances of continuing to win immunity is slim, so he had to try something new and take a chance. James says you can’t expect to appease everyone with a doughnut, might say yeah sure, but just want a doughnut. Cirie, sounds like he just said you’re going back on the deal - Cirie says that sounds like what he said. Parvati says it was a crazy deal - if he gets voted out tonight, it’s because he took a huge risk. Ozzy do you have comfort if you have the hidden immunity idol? He says yeah, but it would be a risk to play it - a little comfort, but he has to read the group.

Jeff says that according to what he’s heard, someone they gave their word too will be voted out anyway, or someone will be surprised. Time to vote! No one can vote for Parvati as she keeps the immunity necklace.

Cue dramatic music. Time to tally the votes. Ozzy does not play the Immunity Idol.

The Votes: Jason, Jason, Ozzy, Jason, Jason, Ozzy, Ozzy - he starts to look worried, and Eliza is SHOCKED - Ozzy, tied 4-4, and Eliza can’t believe it from where she watches… 10th person voted out, OZZY. Mouths drop, and Ozzy says “thanks guys.” One last look backwards and he walks up.

Jeff says that was a very big blindisde and makes things very unpredictable. Goodnight.

Next time on Survivor: Parvati says she needs to do damage control, and Cirie targets another guy, saying they need to get rid of him.

i super hate this episode! grrrrr…..

  2. Keith Says:

Blindsiding the strong player has been textbook survivor the last few seasons, so it was kind of silly for Ozzy to think it wouldn’t happen to him as well. James, his ally, was the perfect example of this. He should have listened when James told him that Parvati was getting iffy, and played the idol. I’m pissed he’s gone and now the rest of the faves not in with Cirie and Parvati to fall because they are now soft with the numbers.
