Watching Survivor

-:45 Wow. That kinda snuck up on me, how about you? Here I was, eagerly awaiting the new season, and suddenly, TADA! It’s HERE! Hopefully I have my typing fingers all kinds of warmed up and ready for the first as it happens recap of Survivor: Tocantins! (Which, apparently, is said toe - kin - sheen. Ok then. At least I can spell it! I consider that impressive!) So - anyway. Meet me back here at 8pm EST - and we’ll get rolling and try to put names to faces and have a jolly good time with the premiere “Let’s get rid of the weak players before we even start!” Are you ready? ME TOO!

:00 THIS IS BRAZIL! Whoo! Here we go, Kids. Hello Mr. Dimples! These 16 castaways are headed to Tocantins, where the temperature can get as high as 120F - the rivers are the only source of water, but they have to share with every other nimal. They’ve traveled for days, they’ve been divided into two tribes - and though they haven’t spoken, first impressions are already forming.

Sierra is already sick, and Coach thinks she’ll crumble already - 16 American’s forced to wrok together, they must adapt or be voted out. 39 Days, 16 People ONE SURVIVOR!

:02 Roll intro!

:03 The truck pulls to a stop, and Jeff says welcome - and asks if they’re ready to get started. We have our two tribes - red and black (will figure out the spelling later). The truck is loaded with supplies - they have 60 seconds to gather as much as they can - the time starts now! This game is ON.

10 seconds left - That’s it! Off the truck! First impressions, and one tripe has no water, no bags of food. Someoen says they’ll be alright, they’ll make do. It’s already 110 degrees. They get a map and campus to their new home - it’s a four hour trek with a ot of stuff to carry, and it’s about to get moredifficult.

First vote - 1 person from each tribe will not make he journey. Coach says let’s get the weak players gone before they start - game on. Everyone writes down their vote, and they have to reveal them Jalapao is first - (red) and it looks ike they’re all voting or the “older lady” - and with 5 votes, he’s voted out already. And she says she’s pissed, so pissed. She says when the youngest one drops irst, they’ll see who can handle the heat.

The other tribe, Tim…something. Sierra gets two votes, and says she has strep throat.. and she gets another vote, Erinn gets one more, Sierra another. Sierra is out with 5 votes. She’s angry and says she thinks she could brought a lot, she’s sorry she has a fever of 102, and Jeff drops a bomb - to be clear, Jeff said that tehy don’t have to WALK to camp, but get to FLY in a helicopter. They’ve been outcast immediately, and Jeff says smiling is not good, they have to change the impression. It’s time to set out.

On the walk, one of the girls says she’s gonna melt off her baby weight and we meet Spenser who is the youngest ever survivor. The sun was high, and the trek was difficult. They pause to make sure they’re going the right way. JT is a cattle rancher, and says the heat isn’t nothing, and teaches them how to read the compas, and e says his challage will be getting along with everyone.

Stephen says that he’s scared of the southern boy. JT gives them an idea to cut off the corner, and takes the lead and they’re off again.

Meanwhile, Timbira is walking to camp as well, and the girls are complainging. Erinn is a hair stylist and says “What the hell am I doing out here?” The girls drop their stuff, and someone jokes about eating potatochips to stay in shape - But he’s actually just back from Afganisten, and a squad leader there. He doesn’t wanna be in charge though. Coach takes over the compass, and he considers himself a rennicense man, a soccar coach and a sympany leader. He says he’s good at being a leader, and he ight away says that he wants to change the game, and approaches someone to make the strong survive (Not sure who yet) He ants to make sure the strong survive straight off.

Ah, it’s Brenden - he says they’re there to win a game and no one needs a coach for that.

The Helicopter with Sandy and Sierra are arriving at the camp. Sandy says she’s pissed - the first thing they wanted to do ws get rid of the old gal. She gets emotional, and teary, and says that she might be older, but she’s gonna do it, let the games begin.

: 19 We’re back at Jalapao, where Sandy sees note and some supplies - welcome to camp, the tribe chos to leave them behind - with a few hours, she can start setting up camp, or, use this time to search for a Hidden Immunity Idol! Which will guarentee safety - what do you do? She says shes’ looking for the idol. She gets the clue and heads to the beach to find the idol. She says that they wouldn’t like the camp if she made it nyway, so she’s gonna look for the idol, have to look out for number one and that’s er.

At Timbira, Sierra is dropped off and says that she’ll bring a lot fo strength and she was hurt by the vote. She gets the same note, and decides to… she says people may think it’s stupid, but she’s going to continue to build camp. She wants to change their opinion of her. She could go look for the idol and protect her butt, but she wants to redeem herself.

Jalapao is walking, and talking about seeing tarantulas, and they arrive at camp before Sundown - and Sandy is waiting. She hides he note in her bra, she hasn’t found the idol yet. They’re like “WHY isn’t our house built?” Carolina is pissed -”great, you’ve been sitting here. I been walking and now I still gotta do stuff.” Sandy tells us “screw you why would I try?”

She says she knows she has to find the idol and trick them, she’d love to do that.

Timbira gets to camp - in the dark, where Sierra is still working way. They find the flag, and call for Sierra - and they’re impressed she did a lot. She built an entire shelter for 8 people. She tells them she was sick and trying to hide it. She understands why they did it and Coach tells us that she did a lot and he appreciates it, but you can’t change what they did as a tribe, it bonded everyone and he still thinks she has to go.

:29 Back at Jalapao on Day two - and they’re working on a shelter. JT says that things are shaping up ok, they’re gonna keep getting it better. Someone wants to make a chair, and the others say it’s too much work. Carolina it was, and she says that it’s hard for her to keep her opinion to herself. Sandy says is on a walk, looking for something - she’s bought herself a few minutes to look for the idol again. She digs digs digs digs, and finds something! Another clue. She doesn’t know what pace is. “what’s a pace?”

At camp - they’re wondering where she is, and call her anitsocial for looking for things with herself. Meanwhile she says she can’t imagine what 10 paces is, and she’s at a loss. She says she won’t give up though.

At Timbura, Sierra Debbie and Tyson go looking for water, while Tyson strips down! He says he’s not the sterotypical MOrman, and he doesn’t mind making people laugh. He wants the money. He’ll wear a tiara “A MAN tiara - do they make those?” for it. Hahah!

:34 Challenge time! Today, 6 members will race across sandhills and into the river to get the raft and puzzle planks, they’ll release the planks, race them to the start, where the remaining 2 will make a stair case, when everyone is on top, any two tribe members have to work together to move a peg through the puzzle maze and raise the flag. They’re playing for Fire - and the most important thing in the game, immunity.

Taz and Sandy will do the staircase, as weill Sierra and Errinn - everyone else is running. Survivors ready? GO!

JT is ahead of the pack, hitting the water first, and works at getting the raft free - eveyrone has to get there before they can unclip - both get there at the same time. Caralina is struggling to keep up, Tyson pulls the weight for Timbera. Everyone as to be across the line - they get there nd start untying the legs, still neck and neck.

Tyson takes a heavy load for Timbira, and Caroline and Cindy are struggling - can’t start the staircase until they are all back. It’s 120 degrees, and people are struggling… Timbira gets to work on the stair case first - Jalapao is close behind! Sandy and Taz ar working it for Jalapo, and they start to ull ahead a little bit, but Sierra and Errine are working slow and steady. Sandy calls ths shots - Jeff says the two people no one wanted are elading the tribes - and Jalapao get a HUGE lead and are up the stairs - and start on the maze. Timbira is fighting to get in it again, and Sierra leads them up and Two people start with the maze, Errine and Brenden are working quickly and working well to go - and it’s dead even right now… immunity is on the line…

Timbira is in the lead - if they are right… TIMBIRA WINS IMMUNITY! They get fire in the form of flint and Immunity - Jalapao will have Tribal council tonight.

Sydney doesn’t want to vote for Sandy because she worked her ass off in the challenge, but she doens’t know what else to do

:44 We’re back, and that sun looks brutal! Jalapao is back at camp, and Carolina says that the challenge was heartbreaking, and he vote would be Sandy, and she wants to get organized and get things going, because nothings done. Carolina wants to get to work, and Taz wants to know how that would help - she’s like first thing you wanna do is tell them to clean up, clean up the outdoors?! And she pulls Carolina aside and lets hr know that sometimes she gets whiney and opinionated, and Carolina akes it well and agress.

Meanwhile - they’re talking about Sandy, and how strong she is, she rocked the challenge, and he’ll wholeheartedly campaign to keep her. She is strong, and Spenser doens’t want to get rid of her for first impressions. More while they talk about Carolina, and Spenser was impressed with Sandy’s strength, and Carolina’s bossy streak is going to get old real fast.

Carolina apologizes to Sandy for writing down the “older lady” and Sandy tells us she’s glad she’s there, and hopes to be there tomorrow - but she’s gonna look for the idol again, and wants to figure out waht 10 paces are, and she’s gonna dig under everything and anything.

:48 Tribal Council Time!

Time to light the torches for the first time. Jeff talks to Sandy first - because she was voted out in first 5 minutes based on the impression she was oo old. She says she’s pissed and as her heart in the game. JT, what are you talking about regards to Sandy - he says they hope it made the tribe stronger, hoped that she was working at camp, and sandy says yes - but she didn’t do much round camp, going off by herself.

Sandy - the expectation on day two would be to recover, and Sandy says she was collecting her thoughts and wanted to go back at them with something positive. She knows she’s the old lady no matter hat, but she can fit into the tribe with all the kids that could be hers. And Jeff asks if she’s crazy - she says yeah, she’s used to the funny looks she likes it.

Is it fair to vote out Sandy because she’s old?Carolina says not fair, but smart. it is what it is. What was the first impression of her? She admits that she’s direct and she needs to check herself before she speaks and she admits it.

Time for the vote!

Time to tally the votes: Sandy, Carolina, Carolina, Carolina, Carolina, Carolina is the first person voted out of Survivor: Tocantins! She says wow, Sandy is relieved, and Jeff says two things are clear - they’re willing to change their first impression, and they’re willing to blindside each other. They get flint, and head back to camp!

Next time on Survivor - the game is on and one shot changes everything!
