It’s Survivor Day!

by Lessa

-:30 Setting up the post for Survivor! I can’t wait to see this weeks Immunity challenge! Who will win Immunity? How will the alliances shake down in the merge? Who will be voted off? It won’t be long now before all the questions are answered! Whoo!

:00 It’s recap time!

:02 - We rejoin the tribe of Malakal after they head back to Camp, talking about voting out Ami, and Erik says it’s every man for himself at this point. (will fill in later, had sound issues - fixed now.)

:04 roll credits and commercial!

:07 It’s nighttime at Airai, as they’re talking about going final three with Ami, Eliza and Jason - She tells us he’s her closest ali, because they’ve pissed off half the try. Jason tells her to play it cool, and Jason tells Eliza he has the Hidden Immunity Idol. Eliza says that makes it the perfect alliance to have, to take her to the end.

Day 22 on Malakal, and Cirie is getting Tree Mail. They’re told to collect all their possessions and all they need to survive and make their way to the place on the map, and they’ll receive instructions. They figure they are merging. Cirie says “Immediately. that means now.” Erik is glad for the merge, it gives them more players to choose from to eliminate instead of him. Erik tells Ozzy that he won’t be flipping, he owes it to them and Ozzy promises to be straight up. Erik says one thing that came out of last night and losing Ami, he’s aligned with Ozzy - like a monkey and zookeeper, because he’ll do what Ozzy tells him.

Airai gets their treemail, and they’re excited to get the heck off their island too and for a Merge Feast. The girls agree to trust each other, and Alexis says that she’s unwaveringly loyal. Parvati says she’s in a pickle, she has an alliance with her original tribe, and a second one with Alexis, Natalie, Parvati she feels she has numbers no matter what, but she has a decision to make. Alexis tells us its not fans and favorites anymore.

:11 The tribes arrive together and see a feast table and there’s hugs all the way around as they greet each other and Amanda gives James a big ole hug and “Hi baby!” Eliza says the merge is awful, because Ami was voted out instead of Erik and she’s heartbroken because she’s not there. She’s trying to stay positive and fit in, though.

Instructions say they are Merged - decided on a name, and which beach they want to live on. They eat, drink, and stay the night there, and there’s no question, they’re going to Malakal. Amanda is mad they took everything down, but glad they’re going back.

There’s a bowl of bats on the table, and people are a little leery, but James, being James, he digs in. He says it was good, like a juicy rabbit and will probably eat another one. Erik puts forth the name, Daboo - which means good in Micronesian. Erik tells us that he made it up, he says he just wanted to name it something funny. Ozzy says everyone agree to set the game aside and enjoy the feast and people. They all agree.

Alexis says that it’s a whole new game, and it becomes more of who you get along with. Alexis is curled up with ozzy, telling him she’s flipping out that Erik is there. Ozzy says he’s ready to go beyond Fans vs. Favorites. Alexis tells us she had a great time with him on Exile, and she’s a huge fan. He tells her she smells good and wants to have her here. Amanda tells us that they’ve been together for 22 days and then Alexis comes in and makes herself comfortable with him? She wants him gone.

:16 Commercial.

:19 We’re back, and the Merged tribe is making their way back to malakal’s beach and Alexis calls it heaven. She feels like she’s in the land of milk and honey - shelter, cave, shade, its ridiculous how nice it is there.

Cirie says that it will be hard to get used too seeing the new people picking up things, its like someone stealing the remote. Jason is talking to Ozzy and Ozzy says he’s a fan, and wants to prove himself to him, he thinks he can do it better. Ozzy figures Jason has the fake idol, and he says that’s a beautiful thing, poetry in the making.

Jason tells us that he brought the HII with him, looking for a place to hide it, the sooner its out of his bag, the more comfortable he’ll feel. He hides it so no one finds it walking by. “Hopefully I won’t forget this spot either.”

:22 The girls talk about what happened with Ami, and that she tried to get Adam out, and Eliza and Parvati talk about it, and Eliza promises her loyalty and makes sure that Malakal is sticking together. Parvati says I don’t know, and she tries to work it again, favorites and they say it changes. Eliza feels outnumbered without Ami, except for Jason. She needs to get in with the favorites, but if she’s not in with them she could be next to go. It’s a disaster.

Parvati says the merge means it’s not Fans vs. Faves - and Eliza is trying to scramble and she says that’s hilarious. How can anyone be so ridiculous.

Parvati and Amanda talk next, with Eliza staring at them. They say they just can’t have her there anymore, that she has to go next. And Parvati tells Amanda that she’s pulled in Alexis and Natalie, and that they want to be a foursome.

Amanda tells us that Parvati screwed her, she doesn’t want to go up against Alexis in the end, she’s a motivational speaker for heavens sake.

Parvati laughs and says she may as well make an alliance with everyone else now too..

:26 commercial.

:29 We’re back and it’s day 24, and tree mail. They figure it’s an endurance competition. Jason says he feels like he and Eliza are on the outs of any alliance, and if he can win the individual immunity he can give the hidden one to someone else.

He told Eliza that he’ll give it to her, and she tells us that she made the right alliance. Then whoever Jason and she vote for, they’ll go home because everyone will vote for Eliza.

:31 Immunity Challenge!

Alexis - the new tribe name is Dabu and Erik suggested it. Jeff doesn’t say anything about it, just smiles and nods. He unveils the individual immunity necklace. Today’s challenge will test the ability to remain calm. They’ll be under a steal grate, as the tide comes in, they’ll run out of breathing room. Whoever’s head remains under the grate the longest wins immunity.

Everyone takes their place - this challenge is on. They start with 10 inches of breathing space as the tide comes in. A fish swims up and is biting James, who’s laughing. Cirie says “Help me!”

The water continues to rise, and after 35 minutes, they have about 3 inches of space. Jeff says that now is when it becomes interesting - Amanda’s head popped out from under the grate. She thought she had more space above her then she did, and she’s the first one out.

45 mionutes in, and there’s only 2 inches, the water continues to rise, and Jeff tells them their brain is going to tell them to bail out of it. Mind over matter. Parvati ops out, and Alexis is right behind her. Cirie has had enough and is now out as well. Natalie is out just under the 50 minute mark. We’re down to 5 survivors.

Eliza is completely under water, and she’s out of the challenge. then Erik can’t take it any longer. It’s James, Jason and Ozzy. Each has different strategy on how to breathe going on.

the one hour mark, and the water is above the grate - have to have nose and mouth above the grate of they are under water. Who wants immunity the most? James is spitting out water as he breathes, as are the others. Eliza says it’s painful to watch. James can’t do it any longer and is out. It’s Jason vs. Ozzy. Ozzy is struggling, but hanging in there. Ozzy is out - it’s over! Jason wins first individual immunity!

He celebrates and goes to pick up the immunity necklace, and Ozzy looks a bit shell shocked.

:38 Commercial!

:42 Day 24 at the Dabu tribe, and everyone is congratulating Jason for winning, and he’s excited to have beaten Ozzy. He’s all smiles. He tells us he dominated and it was delightful to see the look of failure on Ozzy’s face, and hopefully sending him home will be the highlight for him.

Natalie, Cirie and Parvati wander out to talk and they say they’re voting out Eliza. Parvati tells us she’s her biggest rival, and everyone on the tribe is voting her out as far as she knows. She’s standing in the background as Parvati talks with James and them. She goes running to get Jason and says she’s sure they’re voting for her, and she and Jason are going to vote Ozzy out. She’s a little paranoid because he hasn’t gone and gotten it yet. She says this will be the biggest blindside. He says he can’t wait to vote out his cocky ass - and Parvati says it will make her more hated then Fairplay.

Cirie asks Amanda what with Alexis and Ozzy. She says she doesn’t know, and that she’s dangerous and that they need to get her out. Cirie tells us that Amanda wants to get rid of Alexis because she’s jealous. Cirie says as long as it’s not her, she’ll vote Alexis, sure.

Alexis and Natalie talk and they say they haven’t heard their names yet, they’d tell each other. Jason tells Eliza to get the idol and she says that it isn’t it- it’s not it, he’s so stupid, it isn’t it! She follows Jason (The music is making me LOL!) She attacks him and says what are you trying to pull! Its not the idol! it’s a stick! She says it has a face on it! She insists that it’s not the idol because it’s a stick! that Ozzy must have put it there. Jason tells her to try and play it anyway, because what if it IS it?

:47 Time for Tribal Council!

Jeff goes to Alexis first - says it’s the opportunity to access skills, how much time has she spent looking at people. She says there are three strengths - social, physical, mental, it’s the first time to see the entire competition. Cirie, what skills there does Alexis has? She says all three, sociall around camp, she’s mentally strong, and physical - calls her a triple threat, sorry. Alexis says that doesn’t worry here, there’s several people that make it that far. What about Eliza? Alexis says that she plays mental and physical, but not social, and Jeff points out she said “played” and Eliza says she is talking like she’s already gone. Alexis apologizes. Eliza says that it’s right on, but people are paying short sighted and overestimating themselves.

Ozzy, two sides to social, threatening, and then maybe so bad you keep them around. Ozzy says yeah, take the one everyone hates and keep them. James agrees. Eliza rolls her eyes, and tells Jeff that she isn’t liked. Parvati calls her out on making deals and trying to get rid of her then running back to her to make deals again, and they argue. Jeff says welcome to TC - no free rides. Eliza says that she got herself into it, are these people going to make this mistake again?

fakeidol.jpgTime to Vote - Jason are you going to assign it to someone else? He says he has no alliances, no one had a conversation with him all afternoon, he’s keeping the necklace. Time to vote!

:52 if anyone has the HII - and wants to play it. Eliza reaches down and picks up the wrap as Ozzy starts to laugh. Jeff unrolls it, and says it’s not it, and she says that means Ozzy has it. And as Jeff throws it into the fire, Ozzy says “come on, that took hours to make!” as everyone laughs.

The votes: Eliza, Ozzy, Ozzy, Eliza, Eliza, Eliza, Eliza, 9th person voted out and first member of the Jury - Eliza.

Elizaout.jpg

Jeff douses her torch and she leaves without a word. Jeff says this fan vs. favorites might be over, it might be 9 individuals with an equal shot of winning this game. Goodnight!

:57 Next time, on Survivor: The winning team of a reward gets a fly trip - Ozzy has a lead on a challenge, they talk about getting him out, and the idol, and Ozzy says out wit, out play - and James mutters “and out last.”
