Pirate Master EP 8: Spirits in the Material World

It’s that time of the week again, kids! PIRATES! We start, as we always do, with a very long recap to remind us that Azmyth is STILL in power with his Triad, and Joe Don is gone. (Alaska is NEVER get higher then the top 10 of anything! First the Miss America, and now Pirate Master! Harumph!)
We rejoin the pirates right after Pirates Court, where it’s a somber mood. Nessa is taking it pretty hard, and took his bunk. She figured as consolation he should get a decent goodbye kiss from the girl he had a crush on. Awwww…
Jay confronts Kendra about going against her word, and she admits to having voted for Louie, and he’s not happy at all. He called her out in front of people, but she finds support with Nessa. The whole crew agrees that the Triad needs to be broken.
Oh! Rough Seas for the Picton Castle as we come back from commercial, which makes swabbing the deck a little difficult, but made for a great day for sailing. Louie says that it’s time for Red Team to win - because Azmyth has a plan and they aren’t in it.
Pirates to Midships! Expedition time!
The next treasure was hidden by the navigator, and they must go down the River of Death, the place of ghosts, and Cameron Daddo lets out a whistle and all the cut adrift pirates climb aboard! Jay was a bit nervous, as he was responsible for just about everyone of those cut adrift. Not good, man, not good.

Captain Azmyth was chosen as Black Crew, and the cut adrift pirates are the Ghosts crew. If they win, they take all the treasure, and leave them without Captain or officers AND choose who is black spotted. Ooohhhh…
Pirates to the longboats! First they have to go up the jungle river, find the coffin with their next clue. The Black Crew has a bit of a lead at the mouth of the river, with the Ghost crew close behind. Black crew finds the casket first and Jay jumps out to get to it, followed closely behind by Sean of the Ghost Crew - they fight to get it untied, and Black crew finds the clue first. Jay tore the coffin lid off and raced back to the longboat. The Ghost crew close on their heels.
They continue up river, where they have to find the key to the treasure, first Crew there gets the chance to Sabotage. Black Crew gets there first, but the Ghosts are still hot on their heels! They’re scrambling through the river, along the banks, searching for the key. Azmyth finds it first, unties the key, and Ben pulls the sabotage. The chipendale dancer/scientists, Jon, he climbs the fine to find the key, and pulls it down so that it can be untied.
With key in hand, they have to find the fork, and use their compasses (Oh, hey, guess they got new ones. Ha! Poor John - he worked so hard to steal them) to go east and find the next clue
OMG JON DROPPED THE KEY! The Ghost Crew moves on, not knowing they left the key behind in the river! They head east, sure that the Black Crew went the wrong way - which they did, and they were getting hurt and it wasn’t good. Ghost Crew is making killer time until someone says “Who has the key?” and it’s discovered that Jon dropped it! They’re so far ahead - it was THEIRS FOR THE TAKING! AAAAAAAUGH!
(I’m so fun with suspenseful moments, can you tell? Life of the party, that’s me!)
Jon is sent back to find the key, and the White Crew, is just, frustrated as they follow and search, and continue to try and find their $100k key. Meanwhile, the Black Crew realizes they are going the wrong way, and they head East, knowing that if the Ghost Crew finds it, they’re going to change the name of the game for sure. Black Crew finds the graveyard, and the next clue, and they have to search for the Angel Tree.
The Ghost True is still searching for the key, and turning on each other, and Jon finds a mask, and they send him down to look for the key - and consider drowning him for his stupidity. As they search, the Black Crew finds the Angel Tree, and the treasure. Black Crew wins the expedition! And I think Joe Don wants to eat Jon’s liver. Heh.
The Ghost Crew finds Cameron Daddo, and Joe Don doesn’t point fingers, and says “we lost the key” and Cameron says “A bit rusty?” Joe Don smirks “Some of us, yes.” and they are told to disappear back the way they came.
Black Crew comes in to speak to Daddo next, and they count their treasure. $50,000! Azmyth gets half, of course, and the opportunity to choose new officers. He refuses, and keeps the Triad complete, and Nessa was pretty irritated, but it’s business as usual, and they make their way back to the Picton Castle.
Back in the Captain’s Quarters, they Triad are counting their gold and Ben says what he’s going to buy with each coin. Elsewhere, Nessa confides in Louie that he wanted the Ghost Crew to win. They start talking mutiny, but they need to feel out Jay and Ben and see if they can make it happen. It’s the perfect opportunity to get rid of Azmyth while they can. Jay agrees, as he has to get rid of him sooner or later anyways - and if Mutiny is the best bet, he will mutiny.
They approach Jupiter, who said no last week, and hopes to get her to agree, but she is absolutely against it 100% and says she’s going to tell, Jupiter. Which she does, as she asks Azmyth if he’s going to switch it up and make it fun again, and actually tells him in front of everyone at the dinner table and says the crew wants Mutiny!
The crew is not happy - even though she’s trying to phrase it nicely, but no one is stepping up to back her up. Azmyth and the Triad boys know it was ridiculous and that she slapped the whole crew in the face, and he doubts her as well. They also say Laurel is the part of it, and they take the brunt of the Triad’s anger, because they’d caught them talking in the Galley.
Kendra is worried, because she had broken her word to Jay, and bid on the pardon. The Triad bring up Kendra and Laurel immediately, because Laurel does nothing, Kendra went back on her word. And they bring up Jupiter and though Azmyth loves her, she is calling for Mutiny, and that doesn’t bode well for anyone on the ship.
Jupiter welcomes her black spot, and knows her confronting them about Mutiny targeted her. Kendra wants to “tear those fake dreads out of his hair! Lose, idiot!” Louie and Nessa are still trying to pull for Mutiny, but they know that if it’s not an option, Jupiter is the one to go. Nessa is not afraid to slit throats, she says, and Louie gives that giggle we love so much. Ben won’t commit though, he won’t give anything stronger then maybe. Louie is still hoping - but you never know what’ll happen in Pirate’s Court!
Speaking of - Pirate’s to the Quarterdeck!
It’s time for Pirate’s Court.
Captain Azmyth says that he marked Kendra, because she is a liability to whatever crew she’s on, sometimes her best isn’t good enough. Jupiter took the initiative to speak of the mutiny, even though she’s been well taken care of and it seems ungrateful. And Laurel has an attitude and been heard talking about needing a new captain.

The three marked pirates have their say. Laurel says her attitude has nothing to do with the crew, but against him, and he tries to interrupt, and she tells him to shut up. Says he’s not special for doing what they would all do as Captain.
Kendra says she loves being there, and she feels she’s getting stronger with each expedition, and that no matter what, she never stops and will keep going.
Jupiter says she didn’t realize there was so many issues between her and Azmyth, and she wanted to switch it up a little, and says she’ll never mutiny against Azmyth. She says she loves all the crew, and is ready to better herself. (Oh she sealed her fate with saying she’d never mutiny, didn’t she…)
Azmyth says that he has stacked the deck, he has two amazing men and they keep winning, who’d want to change that? He set an example he feels is fair and just.
And it’s time to Vote - CUE DRUMS!
The Pardon is won by Kendra with a $4000 bid, but finds out she doesn’t need it, she had not gotten a single vote. Laurel received no votes, and is safe. The only other option is Mutiny, or Jupiter. The ballot is unanimous - Captain, you are safe, Jupiter’s voyage is over. Jupiter is set adrift!
Can’t say that’s a surprise, she set herself up for that - made her bed, or her little floaty raft with the single lantern, as the case may be! Jupiter is surprised, and says Azmyth has changed and you can’t always expect people to treat you as you do them.

Next week! Azmyth regrets putting Jupiter in jeopardy, the pirates cut loose and Jay sets his sights on a new strategic ally.
