Pirate Master: Online - Recap!

Still canceled, at least it’s playing online, and thus, I’ll still recap! The full episode can be seen at cbs.com.

But first, I’d like to extend my condolences to the friends and family of former ‘Pirate Master’ contestant Cheryl Kosewicz, who was found dead in her home last week after committing suicide. My heart goes out to all of you.

We rejoin the Pirates just after Azmyth was cut adrift. Ben laments the decision to let Azmyth go, but that it was necessary. Jay has Nessa in his sights now, and is happy to be pulling Christa’s strings. Christa admits that Jay’s been the Captain since day one, and is pulling for a Nessa, Ben, Jay and Christa as a final four - though Jay is pulling the wool over Nessa’s eyes, and considers her his number one target.

Kendra doesn’t want to be called ‘cook’ even if they work in the galley, because of the Curse of the Galley - causes people to speak in accents, then go home. Laurel complains that Kendra talks all the time, and Ben agrees. “Kendra is the voice that fills the space.”

Whale sighting! The crew considers that a good omen for today’s expedition. Jay says that today’s expedition is all about keeping him and Christa in control - the ends justifies the means. He tells Ben that if he is on the opposite crew, he’ll point it out to Christa, and Ben agrees to do the same. Though he admits to us that he’s concerned with how tight Jay and Christa are - makes him a third wheel.

Pirates to the Quarterdeck!

The search for treasure continues! Today’s treasure was hidden by the ships cooper, who was an expert at finding water sources. The crews:

Black Crew: Christa, Jay, Laurel and Ben
Red Crew: Nessa, Louie, Kendra

They have to take their buckets with them, because they’ll have to carry some water. They have to row to the beach, find the trail to the stream, where they have to fill buckets, carry them up the hill and use the water to uncover their next crew.

Black crew is off to an early lead, with Louie working hard to keep up with them and rowing his heart out. Jay leads the Black Crew to the stream, and the red crew is hot on their heels as they make their way up the trail. Louie and Nessa carried all the buckets, while Kendra carried the flag.

At the bridge, they have to solve the equation on the maps, how many gallons = 16 pints - and use their bucket to full the corresponding pipe to find the clue. They finally get it full enough and the Red Crew gets their clue first! Black crew is off on right behind them. They head to a cave behind the waterfall, where they’ll find the next clue.

(I LOVE the scenery shots! Gorgeous!)

Everyone pauses a bit by the falls, it’s beautiful but intimidating. Both crews are neck and neck as they get into the water and head to the cave across the way through the cold water. Ben go to the cave first, and the clue said that the clue was hidden where the water falls. Louie was feeling around on the rocks, Nessa is searching under water, while Kendra clung to the wall because she can’t swim - that kept the Red crew with only half as many members to search.

Jay comes up with the clue first for the Black Crew, finding it under water! Now the pirates have to race back into the jungle, to the mud pit where they’ll find the buried treasure. They have to climb the trail to the top, but are exhausted and taking their time. Nessa gave Louie the mask and found the clue, and they start the long climb and attempt to catch up.

Nessa takes charge and pushes her crew hard to catch up, as Jay does the same thing for the Black Crew. They get to the mud pit, and the Red Crew catches up, and everyone is digging and searching, and getting sucked down into the mud. Louie thought about getting into a mud fight with Christa when she said she had it, but Jay gets in and helps Christa and pulls it away.

Back at the Picton Castle, Nessa is feeling her losing streak, as is Louie. Black Crew counts the treasure and discover there’s another $40k! It’s given to Christa to do with as she sees fit. She’s quite happy as she’s never had more then $300 at one time! She does split it evenly though with her winning crew, even though joking she just called them in to count her money.

It’s time to decide on the black spots. Christa does the same as she did last time, and asks the whole crew who she wants to put up. Jay admits that she’s a lot smarter then he thought. Christa and Ben decide to get rid of Nessa - go big or go home! Christa says she’s going to blame it all on Jay - she’s still a nice pirate, everything is Jay’s fault. Ha! On that note, they put their plan into motion.

Nessa feels stabbed in the back and is quite pissed off. Jay says that he is feeling the same, and lies right to her face. He’s putting it all on Christa, and then tells us that he doesn’t feel bad at all about his duplicity.

Kendra knows that Nessa is there because she’s strong, and people don’t want to go against her in the end. She feels she’s getting better, getting stronger. Louie agrees with Christa’s choices, because they can attack the weak, or the strong. It’s not an easy choice, because Nessa deserves it, but Kendra can always be cut as a weak link. Now it’s Ben’s turn to lie to Nessa. Ben wants to keep Nessa, but doesn’t want to be the only vote, so isn’t sure what he’s going to do. And with that - All pirates to midships!

It’s time for Pirates Court.

Captain Christa says she marked Kendra for the same reason as always, she’s the weakest link because of her swimming, and Nessa for the exact opposite. She says she chose them by majority vote with the crew.

Kendra says she knows she’s slow, but she’s not going to stop or give up and keep giving everything she has. Laurel says that it’s true, but she’d much rather swim against her then anyone else, because Nessa’s a giant threat because she’s so strong. Louie says it’s really hard, but every day the game changes. Ben says Kendra keeps stepping up every time they light a fire under her bum, and Jay calls her the Black Spot Baby.

And Nessa looks pissed while saying she’s flattered that she’s up there because she seems to be such a threat. Her strengths may not cause them to win, but Kendra’s weakness causes them to lose, and she has the least amount of gold and doesn’t see how that can be cause for her to be set adrift and wants to know if there’s something going on she should know about and what is she missing? Ben and Jay both swallow hard. Captain says no, Jay says no, and so does Ben - all three of them lying right to her face.

Cue the dramatic music, it’s Time to cast the ballots! Four pirates, four ballots, let’s see what they’ve done.

There are no ballots for Mutiny, and Nessa is cut adrift by unanimous vote. She’s shocked, and understandably so! Nessa says she’s both flattered and disgusted by their cowardice, and she’d rather run with the strong then lay with the weak. “Have fun eating each other alive.”Nessa says she’s happy not to be on the ship if that’s they way they want to be.

Next time - Jay cheats Ben out of thousands, and gives serious thought to throwing the expedition, but Kendra’s eavesdropping may throw a wrench into his plans!
