-:10 Happy Thursday All! Ready to get our recap on? Showtime in just a few minutes, so I hope you got your picks in for the Watching Survivor Pool Party already! Who will come out on top this week? Also - who else is looking forward to the ‘do or die’ challenge? And will Crystal really go through Sugar’s bag? Will she find the idol? Or was Sugar smart enough to hide it elsewhere? And of course, ELEPHANT RAMPAGE! It doesn’t get better then this, folks! Hold on to your hats, it’s Survivor Time!
:07 Kota day 13 - There’s fish for breakfast! Yum! They find an electric one, that shocked Bob, so everyone else has to try it too. Randy talks a bit about the new tribe, and how they have fish, beans, corn - way better then Fang, he has no complaints. Kota welcomed them into the tribe, but he’s pretty sure that he’d be voted out, but this “crusty old man” can adapt.
Back at Fang, day 13, and elephants are making serious noises - Matty goes to investigate, and races back for Camp - getting everyone to bring them to see what’s going on. Across the Lake is an elephant, and everyone is enthralled as they watch him shake the trees and pull it down - “That’s crazy!” The elephant is lifting stuff and throwing it, knocking down trees and the like as they all watch. Someone wants to take the canoe over, and Ace and Matty are eager to do so. Everyone says “brave boys” but they’re really thinking “Stupid!” I’m sure.
Matty says that seeing the elephant made him step out of the game for a bit, it makes you appreciate Gabon, and the purity of things.
:13 Challenge time!
Kota is shocked that they got rid of Jacqui, especially given her effort yesterday. The numbers are now even. Today’s challenge, each tribe will start with a large pile of fruit - you throw through holes to your tribe members while the other team tries to whack it out of the air. The most fruit gathered wins. Today’s reward? Herb garden - you can keep living and replenishing, salt oil, and you keep whatever fruit you catch.
Crystal and Ace are defending for Fang, Bob and Charlie are for Kota.
Survivor’s ready? Go! Dan catches one right away, Ace denies some more, GC can’t throw them high enough, but Kenny gets the first fruit on the board! Ace is Denying them all! Kota has to figure out how to get by Ace to score! Kenny catching and Fang has an early lead, as Ace continues doing a great job - “This is kinda fun!” he says. Fang has a big lead, Kota is starting to get the hang of it - but Fang has a great strategy with smaller pieces of fruit. Kenny catches a pineapple - both baskets are looking full - it’s neck and neck - 10 seconds left! It’s all about the weight now.
Fang weighs in with 16 pounds. Kota 18 - KOTA WINS REWARD! They decide to send Sugar to exile island once again. She laughs and says she already named it the Sugar shack. They say for entertainment, but no, it’s really that they figure she’ll have to play the idol before the merge if she has it and they want it back in circulation.
:19 Commercial!
:23 We’re back at Kota, where they are celebrating and bringing their bounty won in the reward. Spirits are high, but Charlie feels for Fang, since they have tons of food. Things are getting good - they decide to gather together as a group, and Dan wants them all to come together and promise to stick together at the merge, coining themselves the evil empire. They know that one or two of them out will cause them to crumble.
Marcus says that Dan’s too eager to express his undying devotion to the new Kota tribe - which means no one believes him. On the flip side, Susie is the opposite, she’s so quiet, and it makes you think they’re not on the same page. He’s not confident that these guys have his back in the merge. They make some food - and Randy goes for a swim first.
Randy tells us “Did I kick ass or what?” His plan is to continue to win challenges and be Kota Yellow to the end. On Exile, Sugar dances right to the Comfort shack - she says the joke is on them! Everyone else is tired and starving and stinky and she’s living high on the hog with her own fruit and lake and she’s a happy camper, with the idol. She’s happy, and Fat. hahah! (Ok, she’s so cute. I’m starting to really dig her…)
Back at Fang, it’s more rice. Rice that they’re running out of. Crystal tells GC to eat his rice, and he snaps back at her “Shut your mouth! you won’t be doing this that long..” He tells us that it’s harder then he thought, challenges and dealing with people day in and day out. He questions, what is he doing? Kelly asks what’s up with him.. while Ace says the argument come out of no where, they’re cracking up. He couldn’t have planned it better, he enjoyed it. Crystal says she was joking, and GC says that he’s ready to go home, that the game is changing him, and not for the better. He tells Crystal he has to figure some things out.

:30 Fang, day 15, and it’s Tree Mail time! Matty says he thinks their chances are slim, gc is losing it, crystal is bugging out, its insanity. GC heads to the canoe, and paddles off on his own. As the others start calling for him - they’re about to go to the challenge, but no one can find him. Kelly says they have to leave without him - maybe he got eaten by a monkey. Ken says that he doesn’t like to be told what to do.. while Crystal is upset they’re using energy to yell at him, and Ace agrees. Crystal says she’s tired of his tantrums from a grown adult. She’s not going to the dock to yell after a grown man.
GC gets back and they say they almost left without him. He says that’d been cool with him, and Kelly’s upset at that.
:34 Challenge time! Here comes Sugar, and Immunity is back up for grabs. Today’s challenge, one member will throw a ball down a cliff through obstacles while a blindfolded member tries to block it. Your goal is to get it past the defender, into a goal. Most points wins, each goal is worth different point values.
Defender for Fang is Ace, Caller is Sugar, for Kota is Dan and Randy - Kota scores 2, Fang scores 5.
Learning curve down there.
Susie and GC are the next throwers: Dan stops his, it blows right past Ace - it’s now 5-4
Marcus and Kelly are throwing next, after Ace mutters at Sugar a little bit - this time the balls cross, and Dan stops his own ball! Fang scores 2. Poor Communication for Kota that round - Fang 7, Kota 4.
Corinne and Crystal are next throwers, Kota slips past Ace, Fang is caught, and Ace is down -shield in the face. Up and at it again, we’re 7-6. Final round. Bob and Kenny throw. Dan stops Fang, and Randy pulls a fast one on Ace - telling him to Freeze and he DOES, and Kota Scores and KOTA WINS IMMUNITY!
The fifth tribal council is coming up, and Fang has been there for four of them. Jeff’s such a motivational speaker! Ha!
:40 Commercial!
:43 We’re back to watch Fang trudge back, and GC says no one is looking forward to Tribal, and their energy is down, and GC says he is ready to leave the game, he feels it’s not him the things he says, and Matty says he’ll regret it, but GC says it’s what he wants, trust him. Matty goes an tells Crystal that GC is quitting, and she don’t wanna hear it. Ace smiles behind her. She’s all “what, you want me to say please stay? mothereffer go. If that’s what he want, that’s what he want. He’s quit as leader, at challenges now the game, he’s a loser. She tells everyone if he wants to go home, let it be. That’s where she stands.
Kenny tells Kelly that GC is going home today. Ace and Sugar chat, and say also GC. They’re gonna let the tribe implode. Sugar says the idol is in her bag, and while those two are off swimming, the others wonder if she does have it and Crystal sees her bag. She tells them to keep a look out, and she finds the idol. They figure tonight would be the only night to blind side her. She’s the most dangerous person right now. Kenny tells us that changes things, no one wants GC here longer, but everyone is scared of the idol Matty still wants to vote G…
:48 Tribal Council.
Jeff asks Ace about the impact for being out there for 15 days. Ace says a little bit, people are running out of belt looks, and things…
Feeds come back - and GC is talking abot going home, and says he is done suffering. He feels like it’s hard, and Jeff says right on cue, Sugar is crying. She says that people are being nasty, and no one likes it, they all miss home, it’s harder on the psyche then physically. Matty says that it’s simple - no quitting. You can’t give yourself that option, even though you’re hurting, you cannot give yourself that option.
Jeff tells Sugar she’s been on exile more then anyone, she might go home because she doesn’t know them, and she says she brought her bag because it might be her. Kenny says that it’s a little uneasy to see her keep getting sent out there. Jeff asks what she has been telling - and she admits no one asked her if she had it, and she says it doesn’t surprise her because people can go through peoples bags, but she keeps it out where people can go through it. Jeff asks if that’s crazy or crazy smart - Crystal says crazy. Sugar says maybe you won’t want to go against the person to has it, because they’d turn around and send you out.
It’s time to vote. No one plays the idol, but they all look at Sugar. The votes:
GC, GC, Kelly, GC, GC - that’s 4 that’s enough.
Jeff tells them that they’ve endured a lot, one thing is for certain, they have to dig deep to last in the game. Head back to camp!
Next time on Survivor: basically, Ace becomes an overconfident arse - will it be his downfall?
