Watching Survivor

What a great episode! That Jeff Probst, he always knows his stuff! Just hang on one more, he said and look at that! An episode full of entertaining tidbits!

We start off at Ravu, day 17 with Lisi’s return to the camp to join the Boys club. As they’re waiting and discussing what may happen, we get this little gem:

“I think she’ll love the attention.”
“What attention?”
“Five guys with ears.”
“not that we’re listening…”

Lisi did say that Exile wasn’t as bad as people said, and even talked a bit about having her little breakdown. Said she had a spiritual enlightenment. But Dreamz, he has her number, for sure.

Back at Moto, with Earl speaking of the even numbers of old vs. new on the tribe, and how there needs to be a power shift. The more I see Earl, the more I like him. He’s always got his mind in the game, and his eye on the ball. He all nonchalantly ends up getting the whole tribe, but for Yau-Man, out of camp to get their boat, which gives Yau-Man time to dig, with real tools, at last.

He waits till they’re out of sight, grabs the pickax, and shovel and digs away, nice and deep - and naturally FINDS THE IDOL! He was so excited, and so cute, he totally cracked me up. The waggling tongue, the jumping up and down, kissing the idol, and the “One and only Immunity Idol. I know there’s another one, but this is mine. Looks good on me!” He got the hole covered up and back to normal before everyone arrives back, and no one’s the wiser, finding him scraping coconuts just as he was when they left.

He and Earl took off to untangle the net to fish, and lets him know that he has the idol. I think these two make an awesome alliance. They seem very comfortable, and clearly they play off each other’s strengths wonderfully. The agreement to share the idol could get them very, very far. Of course Yau-Man isn’t done with the bury the idol place yet - but that is yet to come…

Reward challenge!
Hand-held flame throwers to throw fireballs at targets that will burst into flame when hit. First to get all three targets wins reward of a trip to an arcade with games, hotdogs and beer.

First throw: Earl and Dreamz - Earl’s throw is short, Dreamz nails it for Ravu first try.
Next throw: Michele and Lisi - Michelle just misses, Lisi short
Third throw: Yau-Man and edgardo. Mookie makes fun of Yau-Man as he does a little practice motion, while laughing. So Yau-man shows him who’s boss and scores! The look on Mookie’s face? Priceless! “Old guys good for some good!” Says Yau-Man, and I couldn’t agree more! Edgardo goes way wide and misses.
Fourth throw: Mookie and Boo - Boo falls short, and Mookie scores for a 2-1 lead.
Fifth throw: Casandra and Alex - Both miss.
Sixth throw: Rocky and Stacy - both fall short.
Seventh throw: Earl and Dreamz - Earl misses, and Dreamz Scores Again for Ravu!

Ravu win their first challenge, and the celebration begins!

Ravu sends Earl to Exile Island, because they don’t want someone else to get another clue and he’s already been there. Little do they know the idols already been found by my man, Yau-Man!

At the reward challenge, the Ravu Boys Club Plus Lisi get to dig into the food and fun at Kava Bowl. You could see it coming though as they dug into the food, in an air-conditioned room. They gorged on hotdogs, brownies, bread and cheese - and of course the beer. Surprisingly enough, Rocky was the voice of reason. “Slow down, man.” And he was right. Soon all of them are complaining about stomachaches and how sick they feel. Rocky starts to make fun of them, and pretty much seals his fate by running his mouth.

SNAKE! EW! There, with Earl on exile Island, or as he says, he’s going to officially change the name to Earl Island. Lodging isn’t very good, but what a beautiful view!

Back on Moto, there’s some quiet thought as they finally lost. They know they have to win, and Boo says that it’s real important - for some more then others. Says if they lose that Yau-Man’s going home, because he’s the weakest of them all. Funny - wasn’t it only Yau-Man who actually HIT a target at the challenge? He seems pretty confident, Boo does… or maybe he’s just scared of the skinny old guy.

Then we see Yau-Man, who has himself an evil thought. He paints a coconut shell and even puts the initials I.I. on it, just in case. He wraps it up in the canvas, and when he sees everyone is sleeping, he buried it back in the hole, though not as deep so it’s even easy to find. Brilliant!

Immunity Challenge!
A caller directs blindfolded tribe-mate along the course to hit skulls hanging overhead to free the puzzle pieces. Michele calls for Moto, Lisi for Ravu. Michele is so cute with her “go forward go forward go forward” while she dances and jumps around. Alex jumps up to take over calling from Lisi, while Michele continues to call and dance, and then? Falls right off the stand. Made me stop breathing for a second, but she hopes right back up and continues until her voice gives out - at which time Boo takes over… and not very well at first, but soon he falls into the grove and directs Yau-Man correctly.

Moto is first to get all their tiles and run to the table. Mookie takes a couple HARD hits on the course, running into the railings, but they’re right behind Moto to the table to start unscrambling the words. It’s close, but Moto comes out ahead with “Cannibal Isles” and wins Immunity yet again!

Back at camp with Ravu, tension is thick. Edgardo admits he and Alex know that they need loyalty more then strong, and he’s rubbed them all the wrong way with his attitude. Lisi cements her next couple of days by admitting that the idol is at the camp. Bet she wishes she had read them clues a little better. “It might be over here…” Bah. They all but put an x on the spot with the 6 clues already given!

EW! Snake number two.

Dreamz tells Mookie that they’re going to send off Rocky instead of Lisi, and while Mookie admits he’d promised Rocky he wouldn’t vote him off, he helps solidify himself in alignment with Dreamz by telling him he’s just going to vote someone else to save face with Rocky, but only because his vote doesn’t really matter this time around.

Rocky “What’s everybody cryin about?” Oh gee, maybe the loss, again, huh? This is amusing from the guy who threw things before after every loss. And then that little incident about Mooky sitting too close? Seriously, Rocky, could you protest any more?

Lisi digs a little for the Idol, but doesn’t look like she gets too far. Hopefully that is the case.

Tribal Council
Rocky goes into it confident and feels he’s got it on lock down, that it won’t be him. BTW - Lisi’s laugh is starting to really get on my nerves. Heh.

No one plays the idol and the votes are read. Lisi, Lisi, Rocky, Rocky, (and he closes his eyes - finally getting an inkling..) Rocky - Rocky is voted off and becomes the first member of the Jury - which seems to confirm that we’ll have a final 3 again this year and a 9 member Jury.

And in his final words, Rocky proves no hard feelings - not! He’s extremely angry, and confirms he had no idea, and says “But now I’m the first on the jury, and hopefully none of those cats gets the million bucks because of me.”

So there ya have it, Survivor fans! What did you think of the episode? Was it all we hoped it would be?
