Survivor: Gabon - FINALE!

by

:00 Yes, I know, I’m doing this in my own time zone - my daughter had a concert, and some things are more important. (grin) So! We recap in my own time! Previously on Survivor - it’s time for a very long recap of the season, stick with us for more!

:10 And we’re back at camp with the final five, and Sugar is crowing a bit as she tells them that it was a perfectly executed use of the Hidden Immunity Idol - she’s never felt so powerful in her life. Kenny is not happy, and he calls out Bob about not giving him the idol. Bob tells him he didn’t need it, then tells him to get his own idol. nice! Ha! Bob says that he knows he was trying to embarass him, but all promises were off at that point, and Kenny says that he’s not a man of his word, while Matty tells him he’ll get a lot of respect.

Day 37 - Sugar tells Bob that Kenny thinks they’re in an alliance, and Matty with Susie, and says she’ll just keep playing along. She wants to be in final three with Bob and Matty. She knows Kenny doesn’t trust her after they voted off Crystal, so she’ll get to him first. She takes Kenny off, and they talk about Susie or Matty being the one gone now. They go to get their Tree Mail, where they have a lot of cloth or something. Kenny tells us he feels betrayed, but now feels better because he thinks Sugar is really with him.

Each of them have different colors to make themselves warrior outfits for the next challenge. Susie says that she feels great being in the final five. They have material, beads and face paint and she’s pumped about that. She’s porud to have made it this far.

:15 Challenge time! Jeff is impressed with how well they decorated themselves, and Matty says he worries his girl thinks he lost his mind, and Jeff says Bob is very villiage people. Hah! Once agian, Immunity is back up for grabs. They have to dig under a wall, go across plankes, into a maze filled with huts - find bags of puzzle pieces, run back with one at a time. Once all are collacted, build a replica hut. First one done wins Immunity!

:16 Survivors ready? GO! They’re off, digging like craze, to get a whole big enough to get them through. Bob is stuck halfway, but pulls himself through right after Susie gets herself through with kenny and Bob then Matty and Sugar “Squeezing that booty through!”. They’re on the elevated maze, heading to the maze of huts. MAtty falls off, as to g back to the start - Kenny barely saves himself the same fate. Susie has it first, sugar follows her, as does Kenny. They start untying the knots to get through the gate, Sugar is through first, then Susie.

Matty hits his knots as Bob is through his gate, with Kenny then matty right behind. Everyone is in theHut maze looking for pieces - there are 25 huts with only 3 holding puzzle pieces. Matty has his bag first and gets to the top with Kenny and Susie, then bob and sugar right behind. All back for another bag, searching, searching - Sugar finds them, as does Kenny, but Matty is first back on the course again. Bob is pulling himself up the steep ramp as Sugar heads back with her final bag of pieces, followed by Bob, then Matty… then Kenny, and Ssie.

Sugar starts her puzzle, followed in short order by Bob, and here comes Matty and Kenny, as Susie can’t find her final bag! Bob makes the puzzle look easy as he flys through, through everyone else is close as well. It’s sugar and Bub - BOB WINS IMMUNITY! Five straight challenges! (And susie JUST now finds her last bag. Heh.)

Susie mutters about not knowing how to beat Bob, and it’s

:22 Commercial!

:27 Nobag, day 37. Kenny says he set himself up so well he can chill and relax all day, because if Bob wins, Susie is going first, which he confirmed with Bob. Matty tells Kenny that he thinks SUgar will tell Susie, but not till the end while he promises him that he won’t blindside him, he’s said that all along. Matty tells Susie he doesn’t know what’s going on. Matty says he doesn’t know what’s going on. Susie says no one’s said anything to her so she feels vulnerable, that she doesn’t know. Susie continue to tell matty she doesn’t know what’s going on, Matty says he doesn’t trust anyone, and tells her to go with her gut. She tells us that she doesn’t know, she feels nervous she’s on her way out.

Matty talks to Susie and tells her no matter what they’re still close, that it should be her, him and Kenny, and that Ssie is next. Sugar says yes. She tells us though that Kenny is smart and dangerous to keep around, and the decision ges harder. She ask Bob who he thinks, and Sugar, of cours,e says she doesn’t know what to do. Susie isn’t aligned, but Kenny is a liar, but no matter what she’s sure that Bob and Matty will vote her way.

Tribal Council time! The jury joins, as the final five settle down for the TC. Jeff starts with Bob - 5 consecutive wins, tied for a record. Is the target getting bigger? Bob says yeah, that’s why he keeps working harder and harder. Matty says he admires Bob, he’s money and an expert - the target can’t b seen because he’s so far ahead of them. kenny says he’s a gamer, while bob is an outdoors type of guy - that’s just how it is. Susie says she’s concerned that in 37 days - she wants to feel comfortable, but isn’t tonight. She waits for people to come to her, which could go against her as she’s not strategically making moves. Kenny says he thinks that he’s repaired a lot of the damage he’s done. Jeff brings up the deal, and asks if it came up today. Kenny says that he backed out of the deal, apparently there was small print that apparently was difficult to see. Bob says that he discussed getting blindsided and he found that out - which changed things. That was the small print, if I help you, you help me, not if I help you you stab me. Kenny says not me. It wasn’t blindsided, it was just saving him. Everyone laughs. Kenny just said that’s the way the game goes. The deal was he would sacrifice the game for him. Then Kenny says he feels safe tonight, and Bb still hasn’t lived up to the deal. Bob keeps the necklace again and it’s time for the first vote of the night.

:36 The votes:Kenny, Susie, Kenny, Kenny. That’s 3, that’s enough - and Kenny’s torch is snuffed. He shakes his head, thells them to have fun, and wanders off.Jeff calls it another blindside, and we’re down to four. Kenny says they got him good - he was playing a lot of people and got played in the end.

:37 Commercial!

:41 Day 38 at the Nobag tribe, and Sugar nd Bob are out fishing while Susie and Matty talk. Matty says that she sees her feeling super nervous, and this challange is the last thing you can do to seal your fate. Susie says it’s almost a given that bob wins, and she knows she has to. She tells Matty if she wins she’d vote Bob out without a problem. There’s always a chance someone else cn win immunity, but she knows if she doesn’t, she will go home.

Tree mail. Final four! It’s time to do the ritual honoring of the memories of the falling comrades. They’ll go to the torches, collect a mask, and then burn them in their honor before going to the final immunity challenge.

Matty says they definitely deserve respect, he’s honored to be a part of it.
Michelle - Matty says that she shocked him with how she did in the challenge.
Gillian - Susie says she was fun, nothing but good things to say about her.
Paloma - Bob says she was sweet as could be.
Jackie - bob says she was always smiling, such a sweet kid, and she should have stayed a lot longer.
GC - Matt says he was classic, a life of suffering and he said he didn’t want to suffer anymore.
Kelly - Matty says she did pretty well considering the odds.
Ace - Susie cries and says she feels terrible that she took him out so soon because someone lied to her.
Dan - Susie says he was a good guy, Bob says he had a heart of gold, Matty says he came to find himself, and thinks he did that.
Marcus - Sugar says she thought he’d be in the top three.
Charlie - Bob says he was wonderful, Susie says he was a sweet person
Randy - Bob says he never minced words and you always knew where you stood with him. Sugar says ;p~.
Corrinne - Susie says she knew how to tell you what she thought.
Crystal - Matty calls her the muscle behind the mastermind, she got way far.
Kenny - Matty says the ultimate mastermind, and all agree that he was a sweet kid, but an underestimated threat.

The final four carry the masks to the top of a hill where there’s a tribee singing and making music as they stand before them. One by one they place the masks on the fire and watch them burn, holding hands.

:51 Commercial!

:57 Its time for the final immunity challenge! Once again, Immunity is back up for grabs. This challenge, each will have 200 wooden tiles, which they’ll use to build a house of cards. The first to build one 10 feet tall wins Immunity. Simple, yet difficult. Here we go - if after 30 minutes, no one has 10 feet, the person with the highest wins. Survivor’s ready? Go.

They all get started, slow and steady, with a lot of different strategies. 10 feet is a long way up, and Sugar is making a lot of progress, bt is it sturdy enough? Matty and bob are hovering near the bottom, Susie makes a lot of progress, but it falls. Sugar has 5.5 feet, but it all falls, and after 9 minutes,e veryone is back to square one. Sugar is up tall once again, moving fast, but it’s shakey. Susie is gaining on Sugar, as Bob starts to pick it up. Sugar’s falls at 6.5 feet. Susie is psat the five foot mark, and it falls - Bob’s falls, and he starts over. Matty is now in the lead, having gotten a strong foundation, but everyone else is working strong and steady. Sugar is in the lead over 6 feet, with Susie behind at 5 feet, Bob at 3 and it falls again! Matty has 4 feet, and Bob has to start over AGAIN. They’re at 25 minutes, and Sugar is being careful, Susie isn’t slowing down, at 6.5 feet, matty behind and stable at 5.5 feet, Bb at 3. Sugar close at the 7 foot mark… but will it stay up? Susie over 7 feet! No wiggle room when you get this high…

Susie looks good… will she win her first challenge when it counts the most? She’s at 8 feet - She is sitting there, not taking any chances, and watches to see if anyone can catch her in the last minute… Sugar hs 7 feet, matty at 6.5, Susie sits at 8 feet… 30 seconds. Susie won’t risk knocking it over, watching Sugar, waiting.. Matty approaches feet and looks table… 15 seconds… Bob loses his AGAIN… 10 seconds… Sugars FALLS! SUSIE WINS IMMUNITY! (my bad - her SECOND challenge win.)

Sugar says it isn’t what she expected - thinking keeping Susie was the smart way to go because she wouldn’t win. That’s what happens when you underestimate someone…

:05 Commercial time!

:09 Back at camp, eveyone congratulates Susie as she says she felt it was her night to go home, she knows. Bob and Matty give each other a hug, as does Susie, and Sugar has to cry as she tells us she has to vote for Bob. They all tell him he’s next, and they know it, and he’;s handling it graciously and says it was a good game they had fun, and he understands. Bob doesn’t want to talk about it anymore, and tells SUsie so and she felt that he snapped at her, and Mtty says not to worry about it, so to quit talking about it, and Susie says she talks a lot. Sugar agrees that she says everything she thinks. Sugar says that she doesn’t want to be the one to send Bob home, she wants him there in the final three. She brings up the possibility of making it a tie vote! Then it’s up to Fate.

Bob says that he like that idea (HEY! LOOK! Sugar Does have dark roots - for the girl I spoke to who was asking why she didn’t yet. Ha!)

Sugar cries her way through another confessional, and that it’s a tough choice, and it’s like voting between her dad and her brother, and Matty says that it’s huge, it’s like, so close… Bob is off in the woods, practicing starting a fire, just in case. e’s gonna rock it, if it comes down to it. Bob says that he doesn’t know why Sugar is being nice, she’s been a doll, but hopefully he’ll be still here when it comes to…

Tribal Council. Everyone sits, and the jury joins. Susie - the only person guarenteed a spot in the final vote - how does it feel? She says she’s surprised and pleased. Bob says that this is the most uncomfortable TC he’s been to, and he has four formal tribal members on the jury and he admits that he’s a huge threat and people like him. Jeff asks him what you do? And she says there’s only so much scrambling you can do with only four. He’ll give anything a shot, but who knows. Matty says it wasn’t really a feeling of scrambling. Matty says that Sugar went out on a limb for him wiht the HII, and since he can’t vote for Susie too, his options are limited. Bob says that Matty is well liked by the jury, and he’d be better going with Sugar and Susie. Sugar says that she’ll lose to both of them, and loves them both - and cries. Corinne makes some stupid gesture silently and I want to smack her.

Matty, how does it make you feel to know Sugar feels like your a brother - he sas good, you build relationships and she’s earned his respect. Bob says that being called a father figure to her, a significant figure in her life, it makes him feel really good, and he gets teary too and can’t finish for a minute. He says that he’s a father and a damn good one, and he’s tried to be there for her. He says it is cruel that she has to be in this situation to decide between him and matty, but hopes that she can make the right decision. It’s time to vote.

The Votes: Bob, Bob, Matty, Matty - it’s a tie! It will come down to Fire - and the Jury is shocked. It’s a fire making challenge, as always with 4 people left. Matty and Bob each take a spot at a fire making station. They have flint and steel and materials - first to build a flame high enough to burn through the rope stays. Loser goes home. The challenge is on.

They both start, as bob makes a pile of flint stuff, matty gets a lot of spark but no flame as Bob gets the fire first, buring hot and fast, but it will burn quickly unless he gets sticks there, it’s all fluff - he’s gcoughing in the smoke, and has to start again, as his flame is OUT. Matty still got spark and no flame… Bob tries to nurse his flame back into life - smoke, but no fire, THERE IT IS! he has flame again, building slow and sure, matty is still scraping the hell out of his flint, and getting nothing, he’s far out of it as bob has a legitimate fire going now, building, building, building.. Matty still has nothing - bob has an inferno in comparison, as the falme hits the rope while Corrine and Charlie cuddle up, smiling, and BOB’S ROPE BURNS THROUGH! Bob wins the challenge, and MAtty bfings his torch to be snuffed after a big hug from Bob.

Susie, Bob and Sugar have gone as far as they can in this game. The power shifts to the Jury, 7 people hold their fate in their hands during the final Tribal Council.

:26 Commercial!

:32 Back at Camp, it’s day 39, and they count their marks on the tree where they’d kept track. Susie is pleased, and wanted to show her son that if you try you can succeed - she did, isn’t it amazing? They go for tree mail and find food! Breakfast! It’s a feast, including eggs and batter for pancakes and bacon, orange juice. Susie says she had to do with ousting everyone on the jury but Marcus and she knows they hate her. She might get a vote or two, it would be nice. Everyone chows down. OMNOMNOM.

Then Bob builds his last gadget - a fiery goodbye to the garden of Eden. he laughs that it’s why his mom wouldn’t let him play with matches. They stacked the hut with all the burnables, and set it ablaze. Bob says he has one more thing to do - convince the jury that he deserves to win over Sugar and Susie. They watch the hut burn - 39 days, just like that.

Kenny says he’s looking forward to Tribal and thinks Sugar played a good game, and he needs to know why Susie thinks she deserves it, and why Bob backed down. Randy says he doesn’t like them, there’s nothing they can say to change their opinion, except sugar who made some decent moves, but he’s gonna tear them a new one, it’s the opportunity for revenge. Corrine says it’s the chance to be herself, she was unable to let them have it and wants to say what she should have said before.

:37 Final Tribal Council Time! It’s not gonna be pretty, ya’ll.

The power now shifts to the jury. They’ll get a chance to make an opening statement, then the jury will address them, then they vote. Susie says she feels she deserves it - she just wanted to try, that’s what she wanted to teach her son and students, what it means to try. It’s important that she succeed just for trying. She wasn’t confident to begin with, going against all the big good people, and standing now against Bob. She wasn’t confideent day one, but is confident now.

Bob says that for 38 days he hoped they wouldn’t write him down, day 39 he hopes they do. he played hard, used his personality, his survival skills to make his life and everyone elses lives better, he doesn’t think he outwitted or out played them, just outlasted them. he is priveledged to have spent it with all of them.

Sugar says that she’s sitting up there bcause she played a good game, she had to lie and it’s part of the game. She had to sacrifice some innocents, and she’s sorry. No one wrote her down, but they thought about it. She didn’t play the HII that she found the first time out there till the end. She played a good game that got her to the end, and she admits to having an alliance with Bob that she did at the end of the game because he deserved to sit up there.

:41 Commercial

:46 Charlie is up first, and asks the ladies - susie was rated as the worst of her tribe, as was Sugar. Why should they vote them as the top and give them the million? Susie says that she knew she’d be undersestimated, and it hurt to being at the bottom, and even now she’s still trying. Sugar says she doesn’t know - she doesn’t think he has to vote for her, but it would be nice. He asks bob, if he feels that all their intimate cuddling and spooning was more enjoyable then he thought before - Bob says he was warm, he doesn’t care. Ha!

Crystal tells Susie she’s a coattail rider, Bob startegically, Sugar controlled him like a RC cr. What did he do that wasn’t controlled? Bob says he rode coat tails, and din’t need to do anything. Crystal says that he hasn’t liied to Sugar, why did she vote her out? Sugar says it was because of how she bullied people, it was better for her to be there but Bob, but thought that Crystal would forgive her for it.

Kenny asks susie why she deserves it. She says she was an underdog just like him, and she believed that. Sugar - he trusted her, the first girl he could really trust, bt she scarred him. Why did she backstab him? Sugar cries - and says that she had an alliance with Matty too, and thought that Kenny was a bigger threat then Susie. Kenny says that he doesn’t believe her. She says it’s true. Then he brings up the Imunity deal with Bob, again. Bob says he intended to do it - assuming that Kenny would protect him. He found out that Kenny was organizing an assisination on him… Kenny says that’s not waht he wanted to hear.

Corrinne - Susie, one question, she has her vote if she answers yes. Will she agree to have her vocal cords removed? She says no. She teels bob she adores him, but he’s one dementional, she wants to see nasty bob, make her believe he doesn’t like Sugar. He says that she’s done some things he didn’t like, but in the last couple days - Corrinne says not to get nice, and he says he’s done. She calls sugar an leech on society and would only give her anti-depressents and to stop crying over everything so people would blieve she’ss aid crying over her dead dad. Sugar flipps her off.

Marcus tells Susie that she was proud to be a mom and educator, and is surprised that just a game caused her to shed being a positive role model. He says he has something in common -and wants to know if she’d use part of the money to honor her father, and she said she hadn’t considered it, but yes, she would. He asks bob to gvie one example where he was responsibile to his own decision. Bob sayshe didn’t need to - eveyrone was making good decisions, he didn’t have to step forward and say hey, let’s not do that…

Randy says Susie that he wouldn’t have believed she was there 39 days ago. Why does she feel sorry for him? She says that she didn’t udnerstand the way he responded to people and thinks he was sad and wished that she knew how to help him, she didn’t mean to offend him. Sugar - she rolled on the dirt laughing when he was voted out - did she not realize he was going to the jury, was she going to make him out to be a jackass? Sugar says he was a jerk the whole time, she didn’t have to make him a jackass, he did it himself. Same to Bob - bob says it was a strategic thing, randy says please don’t make me vote for Susie… Bob says that he didn’t mean to embarras him, but he was outraged by Sugar’s behavior and went back to camp pissed. Sugar nods.

Matty. He asks Susie why the other two are less deserving - Susie says she has faults too, and knows it’s a game, but she was disgusted by what she did to Randy. Even if he’s harsh he didn’t deserve it. Bob congratulated her after winning the immunity, then snapped at her at the camp and she tried and won it. Matty says Sugar’s innocent persona is garbage and they know it. Reveal something that she did was evil and Sugar says that she broke Kenny’s heart, and she’s sorry. Matty says “that’s all you got really?” Matty says bob, why the two people beside you more deserving? And he says he doesn’t think they are.

It’s time for the Jury to think about who they will vote for.

:58 Commercial!

:03 It’s time to vote. Tonight they vote FOR a winner, the name they write down is who they want to win a million dollars. For the last time, it is time to vote! Randy, as he votes says “all three of you, kiss my ass!” Kenny has to think about it…

Jeff goes to get the votes, and then says thank you for a great season - he’ll see them in LA for the reading of the votes. Mr. Dimples wanders off set, and we follow him as he walks off set - and right back on in LA, where everyone looks MUCH cleaner and happy, and are all together again. The Jury and the final three are on stage - let’s do it!

Susie, Bob - you look nervous bob - and Sugar. Jeff says he has the votes, and a jury of their peers have decided, tonight you want to see your name. It’s time to read the votes.

The Votes: Bob, Susie, Susie, Susie, Bob, Bob, Bob!

BOB WINS SURVIVOR: GABON!

- heading to the Reunion post now!
