“The Dragon Slayer”
-:20 Hey ya’ll! Just setting up the post for tonight’s recap! See ya in 20!
(My normal source is on vacation this week - so no screncaps, sorry!)
:00 Previously on Survivor…. 10 are left, who will be voted out tonight?
We rejoin Jalapao after tribal council and Taj says she felt bad that Sydney had to go, but someone had too and it wasn’t her, and that makes her glad.
:05 - We’re back, and Coach is doing some sort of Tai Bou, at Timbira, and everyone is watching him and laughing. He tells us that up till now it’s about the team, and he’s trying to get along, but he needed to get centered, praying and meditating and getting focused, it’s about him now.
He feels that they’re close to a merge, and he starts giving backrubs, and says he’s pacifying the tribe. Errinn says if that’s what he needs to do to be nice to everyone, she’ll hold his hand - she likes the new coach!
He and Branden chat, and Coach says life is good, and Branden says the relationship with coach is good, sometimes he’s annoying, he’s always messing with his hair, and he says he’s started a samari thing, and Brenden makes fun of hi for it since Japan has done it for thousands of years.
Back at Jalapao, they’re checking Joe’s leg, it’s all infected and red and hot. He says it’s a bacteria or parsite got in there. Taj is worried, and says he swears he’s getting better, but she doesn’t know. JT says that Joe is down and out, and if there is a merge, Jalapao is down to 4 members, and this is the biggest challenge yet.
“09 Tree Mail at Timbira. It says they could be winning a Feast, and Taj says that there’s a feast and she gets excited when she hears anything that starts with an F hahaha! They’re excited and want to win, JT says he’s a sore loser, doesn’t wanna lose and wants to redeem himself.
:10 It’s time! Both Tribes converge, and find a table with food - their Fiest! Everyone is excited, and they locate a note that says they need a name and flag and everyone gets green buffs - and everyone will live at the Timbira camp. Stephen says Jalapao is freakin HUNGRY, so they’re excited about the merge. Coach makes a toast to everyone, and there is much eating and drinking and being merry. Coach tells us it’s like getting a new girlfriend - there’s all sorts of new things to explore, and he’s sure they’re in control, and will be all the way. He’s confident.
Coach says he likes JT - he’s a warrior, and Stephen is intelligent, and figures the individual immunity will be with all the alpha males. Sierra brings up the last two votes, saying they were shocked by it, and asked what happened. And Stephen says you have to be discreet about giving info. Stephen only tells her that they’re way competitive, while JT tells us he’s worried, because going into a merge down in numbers, they can be sitting ducks, it’s not good odds. He’s hoping for a power struggle.
:14 Commercial!
:17 We’re back at the Forza tribe - the old Timbira beach. Everyone’s still making nice with each other. And JT says that they come up to a doghouse shelter, and he was shocked and didn’t know how it was still standing! They start working to improve it for them, while they show the Jalapoa tribe the camp. JOe says Timbira is in charge, they have to make nice, because they’re in the dominant position.
Coach takes JT down to show him where they’ve been fly fishing. Coach calls him a good ole boy, they’re both warriors. JT says Coach was talking about the game in 15 minutes, and figures that was perfect. JT says that Taj says Brenden feels he’s in charge, and JT doesn’t tell coach that he knows Taj found an idol, just said that it was “crazy”.
- and my feed froze. I’ll have to reacap the rest later! So sorry!
– ok, it’s back, and they were talking about getting brenden out and taking over control…
:23 Commercial!
:26 We’re back, and it’s morning time, and JT and Tyson catch an itty bitty catfish. JT Says that it’s different now, if they are competeting for individual immunity, you’re competing against them, but their living with the guy. Tyson wants to get rid of Brenden because he can’t believe him - you look into Tyson’s sweet blue eyes and he can lie all day and folks will believe him.
Taj says that after thet wo tribes merge, they figured they were safe, but Brenden and Sierra haven’t made any sign and so they’re worried. Taj and Steve talk and she says she can tell what’s going on, he may not be doing what hs aid he was gonna. Brenden tells us that the alliance is laying low, which he thinks they need to do - Joe and JT need to go first.
Tyson talks to Debra, and says that it’s them, coach, jt and steven. She agrees. He chats a bit with Brenden to see what he thinks too. Tyson says that he talked to Brenden to make sure he thought they were all on board with the plan, but he’s a better manipulator and can mold the game however he wants too now.
Joe and Errin chat briefly and she tells us that they’re working together to find both idols. She tells him that she doesn’t have it, and they search TreeMail for it. They don’t find one, and the pocket is empty, there’s nothing there. They know Brenden or Sierra has the idol, they need to vot them out then they can play the game.
:31 Challenge time! The new tribe name is Forza, which they think means strength. Tribal immunity is no more - the individual immunity necklace is what they now covet. The challenge is simple - each will hold on to the pole as long as they can. Last person hanging, wins immunity. Draw for spots, let’s get started!
The challenge officially begins as everyone hangs on at the top of their poles. Steven struggles early, as is Joe. JT tells him to hang on and he says he’s salvaging, but he slips, an tries to hang on. Steven slips down and falls, the first one out. Joe falls shortly after him, and gorwls his frustration. Jeff asks him what’s wrong with his knee, and Jeff says it doesn’t look good.
Taj is starting to have trouble, Brenden is slipping and says he hates this challenge. JT rearranges, as sierra, debra, coach and tyson haven’t budged. Brenden drops, Coach smiles, Taj and Errinn fall right afterwards. We’re down to five.
Sierra, Debra, JT, Coach and Tyson are still in it. JT looks like he’s in pain.
20 minutes in, and everyone is still hanging. Debra says Sierra is doing awesome, as JT struggles, and falls. Down to four. All from all Timbira, Coach says, and tells Jeff they’re still going strong. Coach inches his way down, then falls and is out. Sierra is struggling for the first time, and she falls and slides down from the TOP - ouch! Jeff says the post got every part of her on the way down. It’s Debra and Tyson. Jeff says the simpliest challenges prove the most trying.
30 minutes in, and Debra says “This is really starting to suck.” Tyson is hanging on by his toes. Debra asks if she’s gonna fall, and teases that she doesn’t want him to break his face - he laughs and says it’s his money maker. Debra is struggling, and starts to slip - then falls and TYSON WINS IMMUNITY!
Tyson looks comfortable in the feathers of the necklace, and jeff sends everyone off, but makes Joe stay behind to have medical look at his leg. JT says that he hopes there’s a firm alliance and his only option is to trust Coach and Tyson.
:42 We’re back -and Medical is checking out Joe’s leg. Jeff says it doesn’t sound optimistic. Joe says that he wants to stay in the game, period. They have to tell him that if he don’t leave he’ll lose a leg. Med is worried that the infection might enter the bone, because it’s close to that, or to the blood which is dangerous, and can have him risk death. They’ll check it again.
At Forza, they are congratulating Tyson, and he lets the girls try on the necklace, and tells us they all want his phone number since he kicked ass. Ha! They all know something’s up because Joe hasn’t come back from the immunity challenge. Steven is hoping they can vote out brenden, but they’re crafty, so he’s a little worried.
Timbira has a quick whispered conversation, and Tyson says that lying to brenden and sierra brings him pleasure, JT and Steven have replaced them, and he has no idea why Brenden and Sierra are there. Brenden is the sneakist bastard, he’s hugged him and even kissed his neck, but keep your friends close, your enemies closer. JT and Steven chat - and swear their stick together. Tyson comes up and says something about beans and rice, and then have a quick whispered confo about Brenden too - and that (taj?) is not in on it.
They get some grub on before it’s time to head to tribal. Brenden says that there’s something that says he can be in trouble, but he’ll have the immunity idol in his pocket and won’t be afraid to play it tonight. Steven talks to Taj and says that they can swing getting him out tonight. Praying on her worry that something is up. She says she’s down for that. She doesn’t trust him anymore.
Coach and JT chat and confirm that they can trust each other and they hug it out. He says that his game is in Coach’s hand tonight. JT and Steven talk a bit, and says that if Brenden plays his idol, JT will be out, and they decide. They’ve decide to split the vote - and vote for Sierra, so if Brendan plays the idol, Sierra goes instead. Steven tells Tyson the new plan, and Tyson agrees. The news spreads from Tyson to Coach to tell him the plan. Coach says that if it goes the way he planned it (…wait, he planned? *L*) it’ll shake the foundation for Timbira.
Coach says that he’s orchastrating a big move, keeping his plan intact, and voting out the most deceitful player in the game, call him the Dragon slayer or wahtever we want too - he feels brilliant!
Here comes Jeff - and he says that Joe is not with him, they checked out his leg and they decided that he cannot continue, it was too serious. He didn’t want to go, but they wouldn’t let him stay any longer. He’s being evacuated via helicopter, and taken to the hospital. So - no tribal council tonight. No one else goes home. Taj asks that a message get passed that they love himand miss him.
The game continues - and Jeff says goodbye and heads off into the rain.
Tyson says he’s disappointed because Brenden sees another day - they had to keep it quiet, but now he doesn’t know what will happen. JT says he can’t wait, he has some plans in order, someone in Timbira bought themselves 3 more days. Coach says it sucks, The dragon slayer has to wait another day.
Awww, we see Joe get medivacked out via helicopter. Joe says he could have lost his leg, or his life, the game is cool - but not that cool. he’d rather walk home.
Bye Joe!
